My mom died in May..
The fall/winter holidays are coming up.
I miss my mom. And I will be alone a lot this season.
I lost my mom, my house, I'm getting a new job, live in a new place with a roomate. Probate court for my mom's stuff is over.. Everything's changed this year.

And the holidays are coming and I absolutely hate it. They will never be the same.... I have lost all connections to my past now.. and I miss my mom πŸ˜₯
.... I miss her alot..

and I'm not sure I'll be okay. having the holidays forced on me every where I go....... it feels suffocating already just seeing stuff in stores..

My deepest condolences to the passing of your Mother. I know how you feel because my own Mother passed on in April. Not this year but last year. It was already eulogized in a previous thread. She was 97, so I guess you could say that she lived longer than expected. While I of course mourned her passing at that time, I also realize it is all part of life, and I move on. There is no grief anymore, but the emotion of Gratitude always remains for all the sacrifices she made for me. That's why I have to stay alive, so all her sacrifices are not wasted.
As far as Parenting, my Mother was all I knew, because my Father died when he was 38. At that time, I was only 6 years old, so I hardly knew him, if at all. And I have no siblings either--never did. So I am the only survivor, but I want to stay alive because I can not waste my great gifts, gifts that took over 50 years to develop.
What could help you during this difficult time is that after a period of mourning that you try to focus instead on the Gratitude you have for what she did for you. That is a suggestion only--as I don't want to force anything on you during your grief. How you handle your emotions is your own business. All I can do is just relate what I myself did, and that's what I've done in my post.

Thank you.... I am very greatful.. I miss her and have dreams about her a lot. I just had one this morning.. I used to have them a lot when my dad died too.. She was young at 61.. she was young..
I try not to be jealous of others who still have parents.. even parents who are healthy sometimes!

it's just.. scary and terrifying, very lonely, and isolating.... and the holidays suck ass. I hate them. The only thing that made them good was having time with mom and dad.

My heart goes out to you for your loss @foreverforgotten, it's young to have lost your parents. Lots of unasked for changes for you in a few months time along with the grieving. The first holidays are a challenge. I'm glad probate court is over for you and I hope the new job is one that you will enjoy and be comfortable in. When do you start it?
Mine are gone, I am an only and have no children and no other family, It's a hard time of year and I stay mostly close to home and out of stores during the fall/holiday season. I do a few things with close friends during this time. And just wait for it to pass....

Yeah, I will try to stay out of stores.. You're right, iy6s just a waiting game.. until it's over... I started my new job Nov 1st. But I am so used to things being hard that I'm scared it's too good to be true.. im trying to ignore that feeling..
