What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?
My schedule is completely screwed up so breakfast isn't really breakfast but on a weekend if I were going to do breakfast I'm likely having protein waffles... hopefully with any of the following: blueberries, turkey bacon or turkey sausage.

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
I would prefer to lose my sight, I think. But both of those are really really shit.

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?
I've got SO many things I'd like to do. I tend to waste a lot of money on buying other people shit so that's probably where a bunch of it would go. Stock up my savings otherwise. I don't need anything.

What trait do you envy in others?
Everyone is replying that they don't envy any traits in others.. *sigh* I feel the opposite, I wish I had all kinds of traits. Why am I not <insert all kinds of things here>? Smarter, better looking, thinner, calmer, happier, more organized, focused... I could go on and on and on and on and on...

Hi Bloke and other friends *grouphug2 Hope everyone has a great day. Mine is pretty good so far. I got new glasses to see our beautiful world! *dance4

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?
I love me some breakfast. Since I stopped my meds I haven't been craving sweet things at all (incl. coffee, oats, almond milk... it's weird), so these days I usually have bread or toast with humus or peanut butter. Perhaps fruit, and definitely tea.

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
Losing my sight. It'd be horrible not to be able to see beautiful things like nature and art, but I can't imagine not hearing music anymore.

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?
Physical things : all life forms (animals, plants...), natural landscapes, beautiful art. The Earth, the Universe.

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.
A place. When I lived in Sweden I truly felt at home, and the location had a lot to do with it. In general I think I'm meant to live just abroad, in some international environment.

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.
Yes I do, but they're nothing like terrestrial life or what we imagine them to be, too many parameters. I liked the movie Arrival which showed completely different aliens, with different senses and ways of communicating. But it's purely philosophical, don't expect action.

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?
I'd keep it for the future, I don't have any urgent expenses, lol. But if I have to use it right now, I'd probably buy all the books from my list, some CDs, book some trips around the world or something. Oh, visit my family in Norway would be nice.

What trait do you envy in others?
I envy some things sometimes, but ultimately there's a reason I am how I am, I understand these reasons and I won't change them. I can only do my best at any given time.

Good morning. Kayaking today for the seond time this year. The first time was yesterday.

Now for a few questions I suppose...

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?

I always have breakfast; otherwise I snack all day. So, oatmeal, or cottage cheese with muffin. But I love eggs and have them once a week.

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
If I had to lose one I would choose hearing. I'm a bookworm and hate to struggle with Braille.

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?

Mountains, wilderness
My daughter
the ocean no matter where

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.

A place. I have lived here for 30 years and it is my place of refuge. It is not great that I now work out of my home because I can't get away from work but I manage. I will be returning to the workplace in about 2 weeks.

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.

I used to but now I don't care

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?

I would spend most on friends and family and bank whatever is left. Which won't be much.

What trait do you envy in others?
Independence. For a borderline that has always been my goal.

Most bad things about us have a good side to them, and we don't necessarily want to let go of these. If you're very empathetic, it's great and some people will envy/admire that, but it sucks big time as well. If you're messy, it may suck, but it also allows you to care less about certain things that others put a lot of mental/physical effort and time into. Sometimes I wish I was less "intense" about certain things, but then I remember why I feel that way and what's the point, and I value that point too much. *dunno2 Two sides to every coin.

Also, for some other traits, you can do better with what you already have "infinitely". For example you're already smart (yes you are), so it'd only be an improvement of yourself if you wish, but it's already there.

Hey, I forgot I wish I was taller though, just a little! :D That would be so much more convenient for me and I wouldn't miss anything from being shorter. lol

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?
shreddies or toast!

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
hearing, it would be too scary and feel pointless to not be able to see anything and at least with hearing there is hope with implants and things

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?
  • love
  • sunsets
  • the ocean
  • the night sky
  • the connections between animals and humans (pets really but any)

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.
a place, my home, seeing as I've been here my whole life and am sentimental!

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.
uh I don't want to believe in it put it that way..... I believe in bacteria.... I don't believe in beings walking around... I'm getting scared just writing this cause it reminds me of when I was a kid and was standing in the garden at night playing with a torch shining it up to the sky and my dad said "ooooo watch out that's sending a signal to space, the aliens will come get you now". I've been terrified since *hiding

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?
UGHHH CAN I SEND IT TO MY BESTIE TO GET HIM TO HURRY UP AND FORGIVE ME AND BE NICE AND WE CAN TALK CAN I PAY HIM TO BE NICE TO ME CAN I PAY HIM TO SEE SENSE CAN I PAY HIM TO COME BACK QUICKER

if not, I'd just save it

What trait do you envy in others?
  • strength/apathy/being able to distract themselves or turn their feelings off or compartmentalize better than me
  • being tougher, like not effected by anything, not sensitive
  • being cool being alone, like not needing others to be happy

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?

I used to skip it quite often, but now try to eat something healthy every morning.

Usually it's some sort of whole grain cereal, fresh fruit and coffee. Occasionally I'll do eggs and bacon or sausage, but I am trying to maintain a low sodium/fat) cholesterol diet...

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?

Sight..... can't live without music..

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?

My son
The celestial sphere
Untrammeled wilderness
Unspoiled coral reefs
The Martian landscape

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.

Home is my physical apartment and accompanying neighborhood. It fits me perfectly, like a pair of seasoned, well- worn hiking boots....

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.

Absolutely. There are over 10 billion galaxies in the observable universe, each one containing 100-200 billion stars on average. I really doubt that we puny earthlings are the only feature playing at the moment..

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?

Put it in savings...

What trait do you envy in others?

Ambition/goal setting

Alex thanks for opening the cafe and for tagging me :)

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?
Coffee is a must, I cannot function well without my first cuppa. Sometimes I have a toast with jam or dry cookies when I am really hungry, or just for easing the caffeine effect on empty stomach.
If I have the morning off and I am outside, I get coffee and a croissant at the bar (places like Starbucks we call them "bars" here).

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
Since I am half deaf (no joke), I could deal better with no hearing at all I guess, rather than eyesight loss. I am too much of a graphic person.

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?
Nature, arts, bbq sauce, symmetry, people laughs

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.
Definitely a feeling. I've lived in the same city for my entire life but I've never felt completely at home, because I believed my place was somewhere else. I think I have found it west, across the ocean.

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.
Yes I do, because as Carl Sagan said "The Universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space".

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?
I would save some for buying a plane ticket in the near future, some for new laptop; some for having a big fancy meal, and to finally buy that damn pink crystal bowl.

What trait do you envy in others?
I don't know really, I don't like to envy, but maybe more pragmatism would be great!

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast? Mostly yogurt and fruit

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why? Sight 'cos damn I love music too much.

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world? Sight, sound, taste, feel, touch.

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it? Hmmm great question, I'd go to the Grand Canyon, it looks so beautiful and peaceful but knowing me I'd fall off of something :D

What do you usually grab for breakfast? Or do you even have breakfast?

I normally try to grab another 10-15 mins extra sleep. Failing that when I do have breakfast, then it'll be toast and black coffee.

If you had to choose, which would you prefer to lose your sight or your hearing, and why?
I think it'll probably be hearing, I'm just more of a visual type of person and besides, I prefer the sound of silence.

What do you think are the 5 most beautiful things in the world?
Sky
Mountains
Lakes
Forests
My drinks cabinet and it's contents

Is home for you a place or a feeling? Describe that place or describe that feeling.
It's a place of sanctuary as far as I'm concerned. Just somehere where I can briefly escape and switch off from the world.

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Elaborate on why or why not.
Yes. Look it's like this, the universe is one big huge muvver of a place and still currently expanding. So therefore, the mathematical probabilities of another planet out there having all the requirements to initiate and sustain life makes it feasible.

If you got a free cheque for £5,000 right this second, how would you use it?

Hold onto to it until lockdown has ended, then arrange for another SF meetup where we can have a right royal piss-up.

What trait do you envy in others?
I try not to deal with envy, more like admiration and respect in these matters. But as for the trait, I'd say it'll be self-belief.

So I went with an even brighter red for my entire hair, and from what I saw online, it's best to wait a day or two to give your hair the chance to heal before applying more dye, or especially bleach in my case.
Go on, give us a peek ;)

I like you just the way you are. And seeing as you've just got married I'm guessing I'm not the only one.
