saw something neat today

#1
Today I saw a beautiful sea-green bass guitar. I've always wanted to play the bass, I just love the beautiful calm sounds they make. It wasn't very expensive either (for a bass that is) and it seemed to be a perfect one for a beginner. I just feel like I would probably mess up and break it somehow, or just be lazy and depressed and end up not using it very often. I don't have many things that I like to do. I'm scared of doing new things because I feel like I won't be able to do them well enough or often enough. I'm so bored and miserable, every day feels exactly the same... I worry that I am going to be this way forever. Sorry for all of the complaining.

Don't apologize to anyone because you are definitely not complaining.

I hear you. Have you thought about maybe the guitar was "presented to you" for a reason? Worst case, you end up not playing it and return it for a refund. Best case, you have something to do that you've always wanted to do and love it.

I'm struggling to keep up with an Italian class I registered for. It's free, and I have until the end of the month to finish. I feel bad on the weeks that I skip. But, I feel good on the days I do it. I'm in such a bad place that my body doesn't give me the option to push though. That's ok. Once it's recovered enough I can get back to it and hopefully by next year finish all 3 semesters.

Give yourself a break. Do not give yourself a hard time. Do not set high expectations. Start a little. Do manageable pieces. Set your first step as just getting the guitar because you deserve something good and you can afford it.

@Always Hopeless
Thank you for the kind reply, I appreciate that you listened. Hopefully everything goes well with your Italian class, you have a great attitude about it :) I actually got really lucky and found a bass guitar that my mom's ex-boyfriend gave her, so I'm going to mess around with that one!
