Does anyone else have this diagnosis?

I've basically been living in my head for several months because they couldn't find me the right meds for some time. And my head can be a very scary place, especially when hallucinations are present.

However, now I'm on the Abilify injection, which is keeping these things away, and I'm feeling normal again.

Glad to see that you are still with us. I don't have any words of wisdom as I am a classic depressed person; especially without medication. I just wanted to say hello!

@Aurelia I am doing pretty well to be honest and have mainly been stable for 5 years. I have had a few mood dips but my psychosis is pretty much at bay. I just struggle with a few other things, like emotional blunting, self care like showering etc.

I'm glad the psychosis symptoms are gone.

Just saw your thread. A close relative has recently been ( provisionally ) diagnosed with schizophrenia after 3 psychotic episodes involving terrifying paranoia, and auditory, visual, and command hallucinations. I suspect this is alcohol and drug induced ( xanax, codeine, oxycodone) She keeps stopping her prescribed medication because of weight gain and choking hazard. My family and I are at our wits end and would greatly welcome any advice and suggestions from anyone about how to support someone with a psychotic disorder who has no insight into the fact they are ill when in the grip of delusions . MH services in my area are really really bad to the point of negligent.

I have schizophrenia. I'm on Clozapine, but still psychotic all day (I am treatment resistant). It can be hell sometimes.
