Are there any other adverse effects that you may have noticed?
It has been reported that antidepressants can tinker with the body's thermoregulatory processes. Such things would naturally feel more pronounced during spells of hot weather.

To try to lower the temperature would be the usual measures, ie remain hydrated by drinking water, trying to stay in cool places, cooling the skin with say handtowels soaked in cold water and applied to the armpits or back of neck. Or even just spraying cool water.

Might be a good idea to take temperature readings and also as you have only just recently started taking sertraline, mention this to your doctor by telephone if you can when they open next week. (yeah I know, getting through can be a bit of bitch) Either that or discussing this with your dispensing pharmacist. Could be handy if they are on the ball and also have a good working relationship with your GP practice.

Only other side effect is they make me very tired the heat issue has been everyday the first 2 days it started early and went off as the day went on till after 2pm I was ok but today its hung in all day

been trying the drinking stuff like normal but not really helping the only time it feels normal is if I sit at the side of my stand up fan

I did read that this can happen and they were warning people during the recent heatwave about anti depressants making the weather worse for some was going to ask my therapist as he rings at 10am tomorrow

Seems today as I start my second week of meds they might have kicked in I did not get over heated internally and I did not sleep unless I wanted all my therapist told me is it would steady my emotions and I have been calmer today after a bad few days

Pleased you may be beginning to find some benefit of the meds. It can take some time but a positive / open frame of mind can also be helpful. Take today as a win and hope it continues tomorrow. *hug Xx

When I started antidepressants my dr told me they would help take the edge off things and help me to be able to cope a bit better. They wouldn’t be what he called a ‘happy pill’.
If things are more even for you, Hopefully that’s a good thing overall. Perhaps still worth mentioning to your dr about the stomach pain though. Xx
