I know that feeling. For me it is keeping a magnifying glass handy in the kitchen for reading directions on cake mix, cookie mix, cooking instructions of all kinds.
My sister caught me using the phone camera magnifier for reading instructions on something like this - she laughed but then I saw HER do it too and caught her we both laughed. I think I would lose a magnifier glass if I had one.

I take my glasses off and get within cm of whatever trying to read...even with glasses not the best eyesight due to cataracts but still "correctable" so have to wait for surgery... yup blind as a bat as they say...thank god for progressive and plastic lenses....

Ahhh, I've never thought to use a camera magnifier, but I do have a magnifying glass that lights up! I use it for threading a needle or reading super small print in dim light. Of all the things ageing brings, failing vision is particularly challenging. For most of my life, I've had 20/20 vision, and I'm struggling to adjust to glasses. I'm thinking of having laser eye surgery, but it's expensive *thumbsdown, and I've heard mixed reviews *nerves.

Also my balance I keep falling over when I get up I do have long COVID as well and noticed it ruins your body and it's added to my panic attacks because now I get up like I'm 102 years old
