Song stuck in your head

Did people like it (or at least Pumpkins fans) when this first came out? I heard they didn't... but I think this is great...

My recollection is that they hated it, and at/or by that point, most of the general public was over & done with bands like that - & onto the new... But regardless, I loved the song PERFECT - which was released on radio & had accompanying video (music) at the time. This was like '98. Didn't get around then to really/truly "listening," to it until more like '01. Which I fell in love with tracks 12-15 (ish!)* ;^) Good stuff, but Dark~!. :^) yes, I believe I even heard Courtney Love once say that Billy was mad or angry/bitter that no one got to hear his best record. They came out with another like a year later (so did every body else - don't know if they were all worried about the world coming to an end, or what?). But that largely went, here again as I recall, unremarked or memorable. In spite of a heavier tone/sound in the guitar. Same problem still existed. By now You're talking '99/'00 & last thing people can generally remember (no t the 'die-hards,') is/was the double album. Which was an Eternity ago, at the time when you are/or were in college like me. As things can move pretty rapidly both in ones life then. But also at the time, with the music industry. Every body that was making that kind of music was kind of a has-been, or past their prime.

I love Perfect! Perfect is Perfect ;) I think they broke up in 2000? Because I think I read something about the Smashing Pumpkins farewell party/show. Though I know they're touring again now with a different lineup. I miss D'arcy... And of course Corgan being Corgan, how dare people not liking his music? LOL *hysterical

Yes, I recall them being on the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, and standing their before their performance as they cut back from break/commercial, and Jay's standing there next to Billy, going "Hey what's going on / why & all of that but he's just smiling and grinning & looking/nodding down at the floor w/the rest of the band there in the background..." & so then eventually jay just goes: Well? You'll be back!! ..& little did we know then; he was right~*> =D / Yes, I liked her a lot & greatly too... but I think I'd heard him say one time more recently even, that she has like really bad stage fright, or anxiety or something. And so that is the main reason as to why, she has not been back! :)

I think it also could have had something to do w/the fact that - even years later - like sometime when they're next record came out (w/o the original members, save maybe Jimmy) that he'd say things like; 'Yea, 99.8% of what you're hearing on those older records, are just me & Jimmy!' :D in terms of who played on them, so aside from credit & all of that from the media, and whomever else. but even then when like they'd show up at interviews & they'd only want the singer to talk to, or ask questions to, and to photograph or whatever else~

Like you had Limp Bizkit, the guy w/the backwards red baseball cap, mocking trent reznor openly in articles, b/c of poor performance of his album & attention & whatnot. So that was the temp. then^!.)*~>
