1. How old were you when you saw the original 1977 film that started it all? Did you see it in the theater when it was originally released? What were your first impressions?
I tried to get in to see Star Wars in cinemas, I BEGGED my parents to take me, but they flatly REFUSED to conceive me until late 1989 so by the time I was born in early 1990 it was WAY too late. I did get to see it at home though, my parents had the original 3 on box-set VHS, I cant remember how old I was, I was very young, but I remember liking Return of the Jedi the best, I was too young to really get my head around Empire Strikes Back until later.

2. What is your favorite film of the series and why?
Its a WAY too easy choice really.
1) For serious drama and acting: Star Wars 6: Return of the Jedi
2) For that time someone shouted "Gay" in the cinema after the line "You were my brother Anakin, I loved you" and everyone laughed, (and those sword fights) Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith

3. Did you like any of the prequels or post-quels? Or should Lucas have just stopped after Episode 6?
I liked the prequals sword fights, and I have fond memories of Star Wars 3 because of an incident in the cinema (read answer to 2). I also liked Star Wars 7. I was so strongly warned off 8 that I havent watched 8 or 9 yet.

4. Which character is your favorite and why?
You have to choose per trilogy really.
1-3: Obey Wan
4-6: A toss-up between Leia or Luke (Han is too cocky)
7 (Havent watched 8 or 9): Finn, I was really rooting for the ex-stormtrooper who was just too good to kill to turn into the Jedi, it would have been poetic.

5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles?
Not much growing up, but I own a couple simple light-saber toys now... (for a whole different reason, they are just fun)

6. Have you ever been to a Star Wars fan convention (or any sci-fi/fantasy/comic book convention)?
Several board game conventions, a couple general sci-fi conventions and 2 specific Star Trek conventions. (I have Patrick Stuarts autograph and a photo of me sitting in The DeLorean)

7. Extra: POSSIBLE VAGUE SPOILER ALERT?
Some bastard gave me THE big spoiler for Star Wars 7 before I saw it (not who, just what) he had heard about it so told me too, so I was expecting it through out the entire film, I got my own back by mock enthusiastically telling him who after I saw it (before he did).

I was 6 yrs when I saw the original film, saw it at the Leicester Square theatre, central London. First impressions? - pretty good funky shit.

2. What is your favorite film of the series and why?
Empire Strikes Back. Although Rogue One comes close as everyone gets killed off.

3. Did you like any of the prequels or post-quels? Or should Lucas have just stopped after Episode 6?
In the main, generally indifferent towards them.

4. Which character is your favorite and why?
Boba Fett, played by the original dude. He just seemed such a hard bastard.

5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles?
Yeah, had quite a bit when I was a kid. Still have them somewhere actually, they should be worth a bit. (Hopefully).

6. Have you ever been to a Star Wars fan convention (or any sci-fi/fantasy/comic book convention)?

See, even as a kid, I saw it as Han barely knowing what he was doing and covering for it with false confidence, which I could relate to.

1. I was five years old, and I saw it in a theater. This movie left an impression on me that was more positively impactful than anything else that's ever happened to me over the course of my life. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. This is not only my first movie-memory, but it was also my introduction to the art of telling a story. Along with all the valuable life-lessons it taught me, "Star Wars" was also something that never judged or picked on me, never made me feel bad about myself. For many of us, movies, comic books, conventions, collectibles and epic stories are all we have. Because we're labeled as losers by society. The rest of society only wants to hurt us for being ourselves, so things like "Star Wars" is our way of escaping from our own nasty realities. If you're an expert on The Kardashians, you're a cool savant, but if you're an expert on "Star Wars" you're a loser. America's most beloved game show host called us losers, and the tabloid media made sure losers were well aware of what he said, and they defended him for what he said. And laughed. Why do we immerse ourselves in things like "Star Wars?" Look around at what this society has become and you'll find plenty of answers to that question that don't include how much we simply love it for what it is.

2. The original is still my personal favorite, but I think "The Empire Strikes Back" is the best. "Rogue One" is my third favorite and what I believe is the second best in the saga.

3. I liked "Revenge of the Sith," the main reason being that I had waited years to find out how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vadar, and I finally got to see it in this movie. Great battle between Anakin and Obi Wan. And I like what was done with episodes 7, 8 and 9. No, they're not as good as the original trilogy, but they do it justice and wrap up the sage in a way that was satisfying to me.

4. Princess Leia. I wanted to be her, but never shared that with anyone. To me, she was the epitome of what a strong woman should be, someone girls could look up to - along with Wonder Woman, but that's another topic. Luke was my second favorite, because I also wanted to be a Jedi. When I found out that Leia and Luke were brother and sister, I was very happy to find out that I could still be Princess Leia and be a Jedi, too.

5. I had it all, but unfortunately I took every item out of its package/box and played with it. This was before I became a collector and started keeping everything mint in box.

6. No, I've never been to any kind of convention like that. Always wanted to, but was just too nervous and shy to attend by myself.

I was 13 and saw the first in the theater, I thought it was fine space opera.

2. What is your favorite film of the series and why?

A New Hope because it was the set up to the series.

3. Did you like any of the prequels or post-quels? Or should Lucas have just stopped after Episode 6?

I would have stopped after Episode 6. But have enjoyed the rest but they are not the same caliber to me, perhaps if Lucas had continued to make them at the same rate of movies as the first three but you never know.

4. Which character is your favorite and why?

Mace Windu. I like that he is one of the good guys, but you can get a sense of the controlled hint of anger and violence about him.

5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles?

None here for me.

6. Have you ever been to a Star Wars fan convention (or any sci-fi/fantasy/comic book convention)?

I have only been to the Springfield Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con. :)

I was 9 years old and saw it in the theater the weekend it came out. I was blown away by it.. I can remember the anticipation building in the weeks prior to its release. It was like the world had entered a new era...I guess, in some respects, it had..

I saw it three times on the big screen that year. My best friend at the time saw it THIRTEEN times (!!!)

2. What is your favorite film of the series and why?

A tough call...I love all three films of the original trilogy, and have a bit of a soft spot for Return of the Jedi. So many great sequences... Luke busting his pals (and himself) out of Jabba's prison...the speed-bike chase through the forests of Endor...the epic duel between Luke and Vader...and my favorite: the Ewoks opening a can of primitive ass-kicking on Palpatine's stormtroopers...

3. Did you like any of the prequels or post-quels? Or should Lucas have just stopped after Episode 6?

I really didn't care for 1-3 and 7-8 (I never saw 9 and still have no interest in seeing it whatsoever) although there are bits in them all that are good. Rogue One is probably my favorite one outside of the original trilogy.

4. Which character is your favorite and why?

Obi Wan....Alec Guinness is just so understatedly badass...

5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles?

I had some of the action figures, as well as a plastic model kit of C3PO...some puzzles, and the Topps trading cards. Some of the comic books as well..

6. Have you ever been to a Star Wars fan convention (or any sci-fi/fantasy/comic book convention)?

I've never been to a sci-fi/fantasy/comic book convention, but think it'd be fun!

I only saw the first one in 2018. This is the first time I've ever said this here. Ya. I was extremely stubborn about it before then (my own loss, definitely, I completely realize that now obviously lol) Wasn't alive in 77 (not born til 84 lol) and never saw it in theaters. Anyway the first time I saw the first one I was definitely very very much in awe of Luke/Mark. Looked up his bday right away of course cos love knowing people's bdays and also looking up placements in their charts and knowing the chinese animal year they were born in. His is extremely interesting for sure.

Anyway oops, in terms of the movie, well I think I enjoyed it a lot more because of my friend's pure passion for it. He loves the original 3 very deeply and I think in some ways that kinda rubbed off on me in a big way. I was able to see past the stuff in it that does technically look "old" to my eyes and just enjoy it for what it is - a great and fun movie :)

2. What is your favorite film of the series and why?
Oh man this is a hard one to answer really since I love all the original 3 so so much but I think my fave is the 3rd one - Episode 6 - Return of Jedi. My reason is very shallow I admit, it's because I love how mysterious Luke is in his black outfit and his dramatic entrance when he's wearing that cape, omg just sooo insanely sexy imo lol :) ;) *shy *shy *shy *shy *shy *shy *shy

No, did not like them cos Luke isn't in them. Yes he shoulda stopped after Return of the Jedi I think.

Luke, cos he's inspiring and also cos I think he's hot as hell. Lol. I know I'm a bit of a damn hypocrite saying this but in my defense I do not like that about myself. I actually wish I didn't like him nearly as much as I do, it's just not a thing I feel I can really help so guess that makes me insane or somethin lol.

5. Do you own/did you you own any Star Wars merchandise/collectibles?
Yup, some merchandise and some I've made myself. I'll start with:

Merchandise

- 4 t shirts (1 - A Van Gough-style art pic of Luke and Yoda in Empire, 1 - Christmas "May the force be with you", 1 - May the Force be with you" and 1 - May the forest be with you)
- Fleece blanket
- Empire wall calendar (for this year, it came with 2 mini Empire posters too which are cool)
- Playing cards (with a collectible tin)
- 2 regular cards (like bday ones, one just has the Star Wars text written in glitter on a star background, and the other is of an Ewok)
- 2 figurines (both Funko, one is a "dorbz" figurine of Luke in A New Hope, and the other is a regular Funko pop one of Luke and Yoda from Empire)
- 2 Lego figurines (Luke and Leia, both from A New Hope)
- Various books, some vintage
- Yoda pen
- Yoda pez
- Magnet bookmarks

Stuff I've made myself

- A binder with a bunch of pix (various collages I've made of pix from the movies, pix of things I want and various other Star Wars related things I've printed out from online like art, memes, etc.)
- About 7 or more bookmarks (some have pix, some just have text on them)
- A days of the week book
- Another Mark Hamill related book
- A 2021 yearly calendar
- Month cards (cards I put together for each month, just says the month it is and has a pic of him basically lol, they were fun to make)

No, that'd be cool though :) If I could ever meet Mark Hamill, wow I think I'd just die lol it would definitely feel like a dream, would have no idea wtf to say, would just be utterly tongue tied I'm sure. :p
