I phoned Samaritans today (as I often do). I spoke about something deeply unsettling to me and came away feeling slightly better for talking about it with an anonymous person over the phone. Felt the tears well up and managed to fight them away. It was just something else to do, especially while I endure this latest bout of depression as best I can. The past can't be changed, I accept that. I can hardly stand the present and dread the future, but each opportunity to chip away at the trauma of the past is a step in the right direction.
