When I told my brother and stepdad I had BPD, it did not go well. It went really bad actually. Of all things, they got mad at me. The thing is I'd like to tell everyone but I know it's just going to be worse. I'd like the support. Should I do it? Have you?

I would only tell the people that you feel absolutely needs to know. Who cares about anyone else? they don't need to know anyways. I really don't see why they got mad though? that doesn't make sense. But just talk to the people you know will support you. and if you cant find anybody then go talk to a professional about it. they will listen, that's why they are there : )

Thanks for your reply. I don't know why they got mad either. I emphasised I was the one with the problem and I wasn't blaming them. I think maybe they just don't like the idea of someone in their family being sick. I think you're right about who I should tell.
