Two funerals in one week

Just over a year ago I lost my precious Mum in a most horrendous way. I won't say any more than that as it's upsetting to myself to even think about and may be upsetting to others in a similar situation. A few months ago, a close family friend and a very close friend of my Mum suddenly died. I knew the funeral was going to be hard but felt I had to be there. It affected me beyond what I imagined, plus I felt I was going through my Mums funeral again. I now have a funeral tomorrow and then one Friday. Both are family friends. Both were very close to my Mum, and the daughter of one was probably one of, if not my Mums best friend. I feel I really do have to attend but I am really afraid of the way I know it will affect me. I have pains in my chest as I type. Have anyone been or is in a similar situation. If so, how did or how are you coping. Please, please. Any help would be very much appreciated. I'm so, so sorry to put this on you all. I know everyone has their own problems and really hate to ask.

Hi Hod. I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this.
My situation is a little similar. My dad died nearly 15 months ago and it was horrible. His illness, his funeral. And since the all the first mile stones without him.

A couple of weeks ago, his aunt died (my great aunt). She was his last relative left and now it feels like I've lost my final link to him.

Her funeral isn't for another couple of weeks, but I have to tell you I'm dreading it.
It will be my first one since my dads, and I'm kind of doing most of the arrangements for it too. And I have to say, I'm struggling big time. Being back there, picking out songs and clothes. Talking about cars and flowers it so so hard.

To have to do two in a week would be horrible. As for how I'm coping with it all... literally one thing, one minute at a time. If I think too far ahead I get completely overwhelmed.

I'm not sure this is much help, but just to know you're not alone. Don't be sorry for reaching out. It's what we do here.

Take care

I'm so sorry to hear you've gone through and are currently going through similar. So sad as you feel it's your last link to your Dad. You have been a help just through taking the time to respond. I hope you also find your way successfully through the coming few difficult weeks. Thanks for this, and also the other amazing help you give members throughout this forum.

We can get through this Hod. I have to believe it although at times I can't see how. But we're still here, still fighting.
I'm sending you warm wishes for tomorrow. I hope you get through it ok.
Take care of you

I'm so, so sorry to put this on you all.
There's no need to apologize

We're here because we want to be here, and we answer because we want to answer

I'm not sure what to offer to help though. Maybe grief counseling and a support group, talking to other surviving friends and family, maybe getting/increasing medication. I bet getting a massage might help a little

I put my best friend, my dog to sleep 3 days before my grandmother passed. We knew she was dying and it was so tough on me I let myself cry. It helps when you don't fight back those tears, let it happen
