When you see it you can't unsee it
It's not the minority that hates themselves and is ashamed of themselves, it's pretty much everyone. You can't swing a dead car without hitting someone saying something adjacent to shame or insecurity or suffering. Even so called normies have taken to say things like "I might look successful but actually I'm depressed burned out and anxious".
People even pretend to look for solutions and perform these solutions but actually they don't. Nothing changes. Nobody actually sees it as a problem, people see self hatred as something to bond over with each other. If they stop wallowing in self hatred they get excluded culture and validation, they become alone.
Also look at games and movies that come out. It's just death death blood blood dismemberment horror fear abuse. HOW do people NOT get tired of it? Everyone had a edgy teenage phase where you like these things because the adults don't like them so it makes you feel like you're rebelling. But I don't see what's there to actually like about these things. For me suffering is something to put up with then forget. It's just bad and it has no deeper meaning and it's boring as fuck. It's the same every time in reality and in art. But it's like art had become basically synonymous with dark edgy shit.
My life isn't perfect, I'm poor and have chronic fatigue and ed and I'm isolated etc, so what I'm saying is not coming from a happy life without hardship. On the contrary it comes from being tired of living like this. But nobody wants nice things. People are SO immersed in dark shit that when you say "nice things" or "positive things" they imagine something like my little pony, they say words "fluff" or "therapeutic" AS IF there's nothing good or inspiring in life aside from things that are supposed to console you after a meltdown. It would be inspiring for me to even see people who despite having a shitty life refuse to base their identity on their pain and look for deeper meaning in it. That would be good and nice too
