Do you think there's one? How do you imagine it?
I can't say I'm convinced there is one or not. I still pray, but the truth is no one alive can be certain one exists, and no one who has died has come.back there.confirm an afterlife. At least not proven in a scientific way. I'm sure some people are convinced one way or the other, and I respect that; however I try to be rational handbook.towards to proof and not just take something on pure faith.

I have some odd ideas about it - Let's say that all of life on Earth is like 0.000~1 % or whatever small percentage of total life in the universe.

I feel like the afterlife is something close to just becoming an alien of some sorts. *facepalm
Greater of chance of being born on another planet entirely, if that makes sense. I hope the universe is a simulation, but it hasn't ended yet as far as I can tell. *hiding All that processing power to do what? *dunno

Level of consciousness, I just don't know - it took me up to age 4 or 5 I think, to realize that I have thoughts and such. Not sure what my earliest memory was... I'll think a bit more on the subject ;) .

When I think about it, I think nope, there is nothing for our awareness before or after our lives. However what I feel is that we have always been existing and will continue to do so.
I cannot imagine it. I only see from the small viewpoint of my tiny life. Perhaps we cease to have anything except connections to other connections.

I fall, I go back to God. It hurts me to sin. The definition of sin is to ''not hit the target'' like a dart board. when you realize we are all human and make mistakes, and to us some sins seem worse than others but to God a sin is a sin... It makes it harder to believe. I think still like, the older testament is harder to grasp. Because he seems like a tribal God, and a cruel one. It's hard to believe that Jesus had to die, his blood sacrifice is what saves me from going to a hell. I wouldn't murder someone and say, well there, that takes care of it and I get paradise forever.

I think we need to live our best lives, do the best we can each day and keep pushing. I'm a work in process my whole life. I only hope Jesus does forgive my sins.

I wish the whole world could realize we are all in the life together, trying to make our way.

There is an afterlife, and there was/is a before life. There are many, many ideas and beliefs about an afterlife even among the religious. It is a big mystery.

I can tell you what I saw during a heart attack that put me outside of my body. I saw a park as the entrance, beautiful flowers and flowing streams. I saw crystal buildings and playgrounds. I felt love and compassion beyond my belief. I wrote a song lyric. Maybe some day it will be a song.

Going Home

When the time comes, my soul to fly
no need to grieve, I will not roam,
we shall meet again, in the bye,
not to worry, I’m going home.

The Heavens will be golden light,
filled with care, compassionate love.
Its total blessing hugs you tight,
leaving no doubt you’re part thereof.

Everywhere light, the source of love,
permeating bright through and through.
Bringing compassion from above,
love and caring for me and you.

Loved ones and friends will greet us there
What a reunion that will be
So much good news for us to share
A grand homecoming jubilee.

(chorus use as wanted)
Going Home, going Home
I’ve done my very best
Now time for me to rest.
Leaving this world of care
Going to Heaven fair
Going home, going home.

All I can say is that I pray for peace and love and kindness for all beings. I believe we must do what we can to make this Earth as close to Heaven as possible for all humans and animals, even if that is not very close. I'm a follower of the philosophy of Stoicism which teaches that we must live with virtue (courage, kindness, temperance, wisdom) regardless of religion or lack thereof.

I am cuddling with my cat as I type this, and I am glad I'm able to give him a completely happy life even if I can't do it for myself. His purring soothes my soul.

I was very religious when I was young and there’s a deep not very logical part of my mind that still insists there must be one. I know this is certainly not the case, but there is still a part of me that desperately hopes that the popular conception of an afterlife (where we are eternally reunited with lost loved ones) is real, because that is the only thing that could make all the suffering we endure while alive worth it in the end.

Realistically, this is all there is. Whatever happens during our incredibly brief lifetimes is all we will ever experience. But that feels like some kind of cruel cosmic joke.

objectively speaking I would say there is no afterlife but after being involved in spiritual mediumship for a few years I believe that spirits due exist after death. Those who claim to be mediums say if you commit suicide then you are doomed to repeat a life again to live to the fullest. That's a reason not to commit suicide if I ever heard one.

But yeah, I believe in an afterlife christian or no.

A long time ago I had a dream: I was walking down a beach, a beautiful beach. It did feel a bit artificial. It was like this beach:

I was walking, and there was an hourglass next to me. As I'd walk, it'd fill with a little bit of sand. I was explained that the amount of sand was the love people felt for me in my life. I was worried that it wasn't filling much (though there was no consequence to it). Then BOOM, it filled really fast, it was overflowing - I was explained that's my mom's love. I woke up crying.

animals are so pure. At least company animals.

My dog wakes me up in the mornings when I don't want to wake up. She sometimes gives me a loving look and licks my arm and then gives me a cuddle. She is pure love

That is beautiful. I cried also, you can't help crying when you feel all that love.

I pray every day and go to my synagogue every Friday for Shabbat services, but I'd be lying if I said that I'm 100% certain that there is an afterlife. I've read about and watched more debates about this topic than I should have, and I think there's a good chance that we continue on in some form after our time on earth is done. What that will be like I think is too much for any of us to comprehend now. For me it's been very helpful these past few years for me to reconnect with my faith and to have a way to unwind at the end of the week and think about something greater than what is happening in my own small world. If religion is your thing it might be worthwhile to connect with a house of worship.

I think the universe is an ocean of consciousness and that people are little focuses of consciousness like wavelets in the ocean, and that our immortal conscious souls are on a journey in the direction of the divine......and what we crudely call God is a big central focus of consciousness.... and that this material life is part of that journey and our journey will continue after this material, physical life is over when our bodies die. I also think we get a choice to reincarnate into a physical body again to resume our unfinished tasks of learning and growing.
I can't prove any of this but it's what I believe.

I identify as Buddhist, but I’m not sure about reincarnation. I think there is some evidence that is pretty compelling, such as near death experiences and children remembering “past lives” in a level of detail that can be confirmed by historical scholars.

I don’t think death of this physical body is the absolute end, but I try not to speculate about what comes after death. I’m having enough trouble figuring today out! Interestingly this same sentiment is expressed in the Christian scriptures in the Sermon on the Mount account (Matt 6:34).

My view is that the afterlife is either something or nothing. If the former, then I want to do the best I can, so that I minimize my regrets in the future. If the latter, then I want to do the best I can, so that I make something of the brief moment of my existence.

Either way, I want to conduct myself as if what we do matters in a very real sense. This does not preclude me from making mistakes, but when I do make a mistake, I want to correct my behavior. I want to do the best I can, not because of the hope of reward nor the fear of punishment, but rather simply because it’s the right thing to do.

Want to find out more about life after death? Read the accounts of those who have died and were brought back to life. These are called Near Death Experiences. I have been there and done that. I know from my experiences that there is an after life. It is varied with people, but mainly it is a loving place of peace and learning. Reincarnation is also a possibility according to the person.

There are over 300 Near Death Experiences at this link. NDEs. There are also many books written on the subject. Some scientists will say they are only brain farts or some other nonsense. But there are scientists that have had the experience and know better. If you wish to discuss the subject I am willing.
