Saw my favourite little cat again tonight, the one that walks along following me and looking up as if to say You're my new pal. This time he kept going in front of me to stop me walking off and demanding fusses, rubbing his head against me and purring away. Then at some point he ran off across the road into someone's garden (not his own lol, unless he goes on random windowsills). Funny cute little guy!

I'm considering getting a cat once the house is sorted. Have you considered getting one?

No lol. I volunteered to adopt a kitten for someone in 2023, it was just after the most stressful 3 years of my life (lockdown and multiple related issues) (had just almost lost house, came very close to selling it and ending up in a spare room) at a time when my finances had totally imploded - income collapsed and had to work multiple low paying hours. And then the kitten turned out to be extremely demanding. I just couldn't cope with it around work and it was destroying the house - wallpaper scratched off, chewing electricity cables, demanding I play with it 24/7, I had to shut myself in the office room and try to work. The cat was cute and lovely, but I was not in a good place to deal with it. Hopefully you will get a nice cat that isn't insane. Part of the problem was I was told it was an indoor cat, which meant I couldn't let it out to burn energy, and as I live on a road, was worried about its safety. Ironically its new human eventually got fed up and its now a normal outdoor cat, which I think is probably better but suppose there are pros and cons to both.

I'm sure if you get a sane and manageable cat it will be great and I'd be happy to be an honorary cat godparent 🙂

That can be a fine and great way to go. It does come down to both being compatible with each other. Matching those personalities where it is a symphony. Although not set in stone I figured an older kitty would fit me with me being older and cantankerous. Worked out great, it is finding the right pairing at times. We are both older, lazy and want easy going in life. I baked a ham today so she was happy getting scraps, crusty parts and bits of ham to snack on. :)
