I was volunteering today and I got invited to get ice cream. It turned out to be a food truck that was catering some kind of event, but the big boss lady finagled a couple volunteers in, and I was among them. However, that wasn’t the highlight of the excursion. I got to walk along the most beautiful garden that was a kind of research project for one of the schools there.
So it was all native plants and gorgeously tended. The reason I noticed it was that I immediately felt calmer, and started looking around my physical location instead of constantly so far up in my head that someone would have to snap their fingers in.front of my face to get my attention. Also the temperature was hot, but the breeze was cool. Usually in this heat a breeze feels like trying to use a small hair dryer as a personal fan. So - shade, breeze, greenery, and ice cream on top of that!
