Where do we find motivation and desire again?

Today I am depressed about my health. I’m actually pretty healthy except for the chronic pain and migraines. So that means I could live a very long life like this.
I got off prescription pain meds this year and was very proud of that. But now, while my pain is not as bad as it was years ago, it’s still there. My chief complaint is the migraines. I’ve tried just about everything for them and nothing works.
I used to be able to push through and get stuff done but since coming off pain meds I have become lazy. I say lazy only in the sense that I don’t get much done because I feel like I can’t. I just don’t have it in me anymore to push through the pain.
Even on the days that I have been able to push through, I don’t feel good about it. It all feels like a waste of time.
I’m in a new home that is much smaller. My old home of 20 years was like a well oiled machine. I had that place running efficiently. I just don’t care to do that with this new place. I used to entertain frequently and have not since moving. We live in the country and pretty far from family and friends. I’ve not made any new friends. So I feel lonely. The old cliche comes to mind, the bored lonely housewife.
I found out my husband cheated on me almost exactly at the same time as the move, 2 years ago. We’ve been married almost 32 years. I know this also is effecting my motivation.
I don’t know how to care again. How do you care and desire to live with constant pain and heartbreak?

I am sorry that you are dealing with pain - I don't blame you for finding that exhausting. Well done for getting the medication situation to where you want it to be.
The only way I know to care again is to make sure that you are dealing with depression if that is sapping your motivation (as it so often does) and then... "just do it" - which sounds like such a horribly unhelpful thing, I am sorry, but its the only thing I know that works. Getting a piece of paper, making a plan even though you have no motivation and don't want to do it, and "just doing it" - motivation begets motivation. Once you have momentum it is so much easier.
Please see a doctor and get some support. You deserve that. Talk to us here - tell us the things you WOULD be doing if you had some motivation - talking about it is a good place to start.

In regards to the migraines (you've likely tried what I'm about to suggest already but I'm going to suggest it anyway in case you haven't) there are self massage techniques and neck stretches you can do that are supposed to be beneficial. If you've already tried this, please ignore me.

@Freya, That’s what makes me even sadder. I have a lot to live for. I have horses and I’ve trained most to be ridden. I have the means to train more but I just don’t do it. Horses have always been huge therapy for me. Now I go out to feed them and that’s pretty much it. I make sure they’re healthy and I scratch them but that’s it.
I’ve also been certified to be an equine assisted learning facilitator. I love people and have always wanted to help anyone who might need help. But I’m not furthering this either. I know horses have taught me a lot about myself and would love my horses to teach others about themselves. But no motivation again.
I guess I could pretend I have motivation and pretend to be excited about what I used to be excited about. It just feels like the light switch has been turned off inside of me and I can’t find the switch to turn them back on.
The sad part is that when I talk to hubster or my girlfriend, I think I almost convince them life isn’t worth it. I’m pretty convincing. Lmao I don’t know why but that cracks me up. Thank you for your suggestions. It actually does make sense and I do appreciate it. It gets fed me something to consider.
@Paisley, I’ve tried massage therapy. Neuro muscular therapy to be exact. While it feels great, it never touched my headaches. I’ve tried acupuncture, immitrex shots, and another whole slew of natural treatments. I even had a mouth piece made in case it was tmj that caused the headaches since I grind my teeth. Thank you for responding. I’ll never ignore any suggestions from you or anyone else here. I appreciate it. I will try some neck stretches on my own tonight though. It actually sounds like it’d feel pretty good at the moment.
