I don't think people always realize the importance the portion size. Most of us are not giving blood, sweat and tears working in demanding, physical, labor intensive jobs. Most of us work sedentary jobs and so need way less food than what we pack onto our plates.

You can of course still enjoy your chocolate and slice of pizza, but again, it's a matter of eating much less of those things.

It's also easy for people to just some cookies lying around the house or in a cupboard, and we instinctively just have one or two. But later we have another one or two and all those add up. Be mindful of that. It's just a waste for a few seconds of mouth pleasure. Might be an idea to limit how much junk food you keep in your house. Why subject yourself to the temptation?

I agree 100% with @Dark111 . Though may I add to pay attention of serving sizes as well, as they essentially dictate the nutrients you're actually getting, and if you eat twice the serving size, but then treat it as if you only ate the listed amount, then you'll be damaging yourself in your efforts. However, that really only comes into play if you do macro counting or if you use the label to decide what to eat.

I've personally been macro counting using a small notebook, which I carry with me, that I column all my nutrients with. Though avoiding obsession is something to keep in mind. Apps are also a great alternative. I try to do exercises 3x a week to allow for recovery days. I don't personally take progression pics, but I've been told I've been doing so, so that's nice to hear regardless.

Just wanted to say ty for inviting me here @Champagne I appreciate that you care & that you thought of me :)
I'm not really in a very good or "goal oriented" state of mind right now but after later today I will be a lot less worried and stressed and then my mood should hopefully improve a lot so then I'll come back to talk about the last month & my goals.
Wishing the best of luck as always to everyone with their healthy living/lifestyle goals :) *hug

I only just started a bit ago, and it's nice to see the morale, determination, and aspirations of everyone in these threads. Along with all the knowledge shared. And I'm sorry if my comment came across the wrong way. I wish the same for you and everyone else participating, notwithstanding the amount of effort it can take. Good luck everybody! *grouphug2

Ohh. Thanks for the tag. I've been putting it off and having a hard time caring about it, but I do really need to find a way to get myself back into exercise. Need to think about how to do that realistically so I stick to it.

There is a lot of truth to the activity level matching with portions of what gets eaten and how much of society now is slowed down physically so people no longer work off excess whether it is exercise or physical labor. I claim that I am quite lucky in living in a farm community with how many neighbors need help around with the equipment, hooking up harrows or changing a tractor tire, those can be a workout in themselves since it is often out in the heat and sun. It is much like commercial fishermen or crabbers like on Deadliest Catch, they are likely to eat 5,000 or 6,000 calories a day and still may lose weight.

Yay definitely and kitty have some good news for myself too! I’ve been thinking ways of not to stress my condition further and I figured, if my parents isn’t an easy going person with this, I literally went about asking my entire family blessings to agree with this and my parents finally understood it. That is to those that knows me well and that cares, I ignore the worse ones.

I have always wanted to return to work and for starters, the old me who is not so wise would want to stress myself out by doing both part time and online biz together. But then because of my pcos management schedule is a lot, it will disrupt my part time work like I will get fired cause I keep getting doctor’s permission to have sick leave.

I then have gave my healthiest constructive work plans and with my strictest confidence, my family and dad gave me blessings to support me on my recovery, medical financial and allows me to focus on building online business so it has been a fair win for everybody and plus, even if I’m only building it for the first three years, I still can go back straight to full time either way or at least when there’s less specialists to see.

And I know I can be stubborn cause being compliance to my medication is hard and theres a lot but I know that I’m happy my doctors have corrected and confirmed the diagnosis to not add on any more problems from the medication to not stress financial issues further.

Just more recovery for Kitty, and getting my life back together. Cheers to more happiness! ^^~😺🎵

I am 9 pounds down since July, and that's not all. I am also the lowest weight I have been in a decade, and proportionally speaking, the lowest weight I have ever been. I would have to go back to pictures of myself when I was a small child to find pictures of myself slimmer.

This is not something I really thought possible. Sure, I wanted it, but being overweight your whole life and trying to fight it has not been easy. Even when you feel you are starting to succeed it only takes a week of bad habits to set you back to where you were.

The major proponent for this quick change was coming off Mirtazapine. An evil drug which helped to rid me of my depression and anxiety. It led to major weight gain but the benefit to my mental health outweighed any weight I was putting on. The longer I was on it the more I understood it and in January I was able to start a process to lose weight, which I'll admit was not without it's difficulties but by the time I was ready to come off the medication mid way through the year, I had been able to shift some of the weight I had gained.

With these practices in place and coming off the meds at the same time, it led to me losing weight at a fast rate and reaching the weight I am today. I am actually now 4 pounds lighter than my previous lowest weight of the last decade so good job to me. At this point, I am at a comfortable weight and to be honest was all the way back in July. This is simply a bonus and I will continue to look after myself and see where that leads.

It should also be said I was hoping to share this with one member in particular who gave me a tremendous amount of support with my weight loss journey over the years. Sadly that member left SF some time ago and I do miss them, but I have a strange feeling, really weirdly strange feeling, that somehow they'll still find a way to see this post, by as early as tomorrow. Can't really explain it but anyway, thanks for reading :)
