The whole idea of manliness is completely misunderstood.
Take Dorian Yates for example. He was Mr Olympia for several years, the most muscular man in the world. Yet by his own admission he is also an introvert, isn't concerned with conquering the world, is friends with regular people down the gym, and struggled with clinical depression at one point in his life. He also talks a lot about the importance of spiritual experiences.
The guy is a walking sack of testosterone, yet he hardly fits the criteria of the popular 'alpha male' stereotype.
