Interesting. I watched a video the other day describing how the terrible times in our lives are necessary because otherwise we'd have no reference point for the times that are good or even just OK. No light without dark, etc. I modelled myself a bit on Crowley (among other controversial or artistic figures) as a young man, unfortunately I had neither the wealth of Crowley nor quite the opportunities/talent/charisma of the others (Poets, artists, rebels) . But I accept that younger, externally focused self, as without it I would not have eventually become the more inwardly content self that I am now.

What I'm thinking of doing would be expensive, could send me right over the edge, but it'd probably get things tied up and neatly cut
Do you want to say what you're thinking of doing?
My f-ing weakness and lack of assertion at critical times led to this failure
It sounds like you're being really harsh on yourself. Do you want to explain why you feel this way?

Until recently, being alone has never been a problem for me. Creativity can be a focus, I get lots of things done, I can navigate the way I want, social interaction issues don't intrude into my mind, and I'm less likely to become anxious.
Perhaps I was fooled or purposely fooled myself thinking I was smart enough and nice enough to be an introvert, and pull off being a good partner.

I think you're smart and nice and could also be a good partner. If you're introverted, relationships can be more of a challenge than they are for other people, but I think things could still work out with the right person.
