I read a lot about weight loss as I'm trying to lose some weight and I have been writing down quotes that help me. I hope they can help some of you too. Feel free to share yours too.

Food should primarily be about fuel, not little hits of happiness to brighten your day.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. (This is my favourite one)

Maybe this small piece is going to get you the deficit you're looking for today.

Your body isn't a dumpster so don't behave like it is.

It's still wasted if it ends up in your thighs.

Every bite matters.

You have to do better to feel better.

The best time to start is now.

Met in a tele conference with my dietitian. I pointed out that except for snacking I was doing ok foodwise. She thought that maybe my lack of exercise and continuing sleep problems were related to my depression phase. She wants me to get up early so I can get a walk in during the day. She was surprised that I was still tired in spite of the cpap machine.

But I am still gaining weight. She wants me to keep busy in the evenings by crafting instead of watching tv. It was kind of a therapy appt. I don't want to use her as such but no therapist in the area will take me because of my suicide ideation in the past.So what am I doing? Sitting on the couch drinking water on the computer instead of being busy.

Tysm for the tag @BlackOpium & for starting this topic, great idea! :) Here's some motivational/inspiring quotes related to the topic that I like (really love the one about it not mattering how slowly you go so long as you do not give up, so comforting cos sometimes I get upset if it feels like I'm going "too slowly" but that does often seem to be the pace that works better for me overall).

β€œRemeber you don’t have to be a size two. Abs are great to have but not needed to be healthy.”

A man who procrastinates in his choosing will have his choice made for him by circumstance.” -Hunter S. Thomson

I mostly watch shows (anime and YouTube) that inspire me. If u wanna watch anything in that vein to help inspire u, u can give u some names.

This may come off as obtuse or something to some, but I will say, the best weight loss program I've ever figured out is just to get busy. Do stuff, help people out, work, go out. The nice thing is that it doesn't eat into your time for doing stuff. That said, if the gyms were open I would be there right now.

Here is an update on losing weight, and feel free to respond:

Daily calories needed
Female - 1,600 - 2,400
Male - 2,000 - 3,000

Here's some info to get the ball rolling -
At higher intensity exercise (sprinting) more carbs and less fat are burned.
At lower intensity exercise (walking, jogging, etc.) less carbs and more fat are burned.

How many calories equal one pound (or .45 kilogram)?

3,500 calories! Walk one mile - 100 calories burned. Run one mile - 150 calories burned.

The three main components are frequency, intensity, and duration of exercise.

So if anyone wants more info, I started a post a few weeks ago about exercise.

To anybody here with weight problems: I was the same. Get into a good therapy where you get a good nervous system regulation and you will lose weight without diet. Our body knows exactly what it needs and how much it needs, weight gain happens (unless hormonal), because stress nervous system regulation managed via eating. For me somatic therapy helped with some traditional therapy(I left materials on it in a separate thread) with some exercise (yoga at home).

PS. For anybody looking for a good method on losing weight: Intermittent fasting.
(it helped me until I got into therapy)
This is an interview with a doctor about it from a famous/prestigious health clinic:
