I love Pointers. My friend has an English Pointer, similar to the German but just slightly bigger. He's a fantastic dog, so friendly and loyal.

...so there I was peacefully minding my own business when a little roach crawled by. Shortly after, another one strolled by. then a third one came blissfully sauntering by. I noticed from where it came! The shelf with all the magazines. So I pulled a couple from the top of the stack off the shelf and a thousand roaches came out along with the magazines, running everywhere all over my dining room and beyond.

The frightening thing is that most of them escaped into other places in my home obviously each in order to set up a new place of residence and start a family. and these bugs are not so nice to spray with insecticide and then sweep up..

And yes, I'm sure it was a thousand...

Ugh!... Sorry to hear this, @extraterrestrialone .... Have you considered foggers/bombs? I had a bad roach problem in a townhouse I was renting during grad school. I bombed it with foggers then got raid roach baits and egg stoppers, and that cleared them out..

You need a Roach Motel. I remember going on holiday to New York when I was around 10 and being absolutely fascinated by the TV advert for them.. "They check in but they don't check out". I had no idea what a cockroach was but I loved that advert.

Or get a bearded dragon or two. Cockroaches are their favourite food. I ended up breeding the bloody things when my son had a beardie as they're so expensive to buy over here.

actually this happened 35 years ago. by now descendants of those roaches must easily be in the trillions or more. but fortunately i moved out of the place just weeks later for unrelated reason. also i didn’t want to use too much bug killer because i didn’t want to cause my dog any toxicity.

BUT in this building - and now more than ever - i hear because restaurants are closed - the bugs (and who knows, maybe even mice or worse) - they come to the apartment buildings looking for food - so we have lately had visits from big inch and a halfers (38.1mm). but you can be sure if there were a thousand of them... even 3oo... even 17, i would be gone gone gone and take my chances elsewhere. 😱🥴😬

that is so great. i never saw one until my early teens when someone gave us a used carpet. my mother freaked out but then i never saw one again until i moved out to college... i wish you the best in not ever seeing them. ... and being that way... i’m very happy for you.
