It's like another language Witty, in Scotland everyone speaks much faster. When I went back at 18 to visit after been gone 4yrs, I had to speed up my listening and speaking.....it's really strange :)
Yeah, it seems like Scottish is one of the most difficult accents for me to understand. Just a thick accent and if they speak quickly, that's even harder to follow.

I am totally confukted. Which means I am both confused and f**ked at the same time.

Gan yhem for me scran. Off home for my tea.

Being a Geordie, we have a very diverse dialect from mackems to pit yackers and they are completely different languages although only 40 miles apart.

I think I'll have to study up on that and learn some things that can confuse people around here. lol

Things I have previously commonly said:

"Perception is 9/10ths of the law if existence."

And because I dart around frequently at work when my mind is objective-based I would get asked after repeatedly entering and then leaving the room:
"Are you coming or going??"
And my response was an existential: "Neither and both at the same time."
Which I would say intentionally to confuse the person and make them leave me alone, but I also meant it from a dualistic bi-linear perspective.

Holy screaming toffee.

"Nincompoop" as an affectionate insult.

Much more recently, "heebie jeebies" in the place of "holy hell" in a place I frequent as I was reminded that some people of religion may take offense otherwise.

I have a tendency to say "said the man" at the end of my sentences. Sometimes I say "ubba dubba" in place of "mother fucker" -- like I might say "you won't believe what this ubba dubba said".

I say 'hogwash' a lot.. I read a lot of old british literature when I was young.

I also say 'easy pie' instead of 'easy as pie'.. I don't know why.

I got used to saying 'funk you' instead of 'fuck you' back when these forums were more censored.. but now I'm back used to swearing like sailor. :)

Brian.. I imagine you looking exactly like the janitor from the Simpsons. :) How racist is that? :p
