Encouraging Quotes

Beauty Tips

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once per day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
Renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed,
So never throw out anyone.

If you ever need a helping hand, remember that
there is one at the end of each one of your arms.
And the older you grow, the more your discover
that you have two hands:
one for helping yourself and
the other one for helping others.

I love it!!

Lucky the evidence is contrary to an afterlife . I suggest listening to Sean Carroll for a scientific inquiry into the after life .
The scientists of our world so far have, as far as I am aware, not yet found ways of explaining what's happening in the spiritual background of our earthly existence. They will do so in due course, of that I am convinced.

I don't really like quotes, because I think they give a false sense of hope sometimes and can cloud judgement. And I like being original, making my own quotes as I find them to be or not be true along life's journey. But on a cold November night, I just wanted to make some little contribution to SF so here are some of the better one's I've come across in my time;

"You'd be surprised what you can go through when you have to."(I think from 'The Red Badge of Courage' maybe?)
"The world meets no one half-way."(Sylvester Stallone, 'Over the Top')
"Having the courage to be yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to the world."(Unknown)
"There are limits to how good things can be in life; there are no limits to how bad."(Mine)
"If you're not good enough with a gold medal, you'll never be good enough without one."(John Candy, 'Cool Runnings')
"You have to lose to know, how to win."(Aerosmith, Dream On)

I guess that's it for now. These have to do with dealing with hard times and self-esteem, which is why I like them. OK one more, though I'm not sure how helpful it will be.
"Happiness is a warm armadillo."(Mine)
