Exercised for about 40 minutes: a little cardio warm-up then cycling through sets of squats, biceps, triceps, then did some juggling at the end with slightly shaky arms. Always, I feel better after my workouts.
I feel better after a walk or work-out too. Ive been slacking on going to the gym before work, but cant seem to get out of bed at 4am, go figure. Have a good day seabird.

About 5 min. skip rope warm-up, then another careful return to my pre-injury routine for chest and shoulders. No pain so yay for that, but noticeably stiffer on the left side. 5 minutes warmdown just walking around. Way too hot for me to run or even jog. Jumping rope is pretty vigorous cardio though, so it'll be fine.

Jumping rope is challenging when you’re an adult. I see kids doing it like it’s no work at all, but then I remember that they have small bodies, so less weight to have to move lol. 🤪

How is your range of motion in the recovering shoulder?

when I work with a jump rope it’s minutes before I tap out because my HR is 180, and that’s over the theoretical max for me based on the formula of 220 less age in years. I would get more efficient with practice, but I get so humiliated the first day that I’m afraid.

However, I can say my hula hoop game is almost okay. That’s a huge abs workout.

Just checked my step count and it’s at 5400 for today. :) My walk this morning was about 1700 steps, but I did have two errands that had me walking moderate distances. I’m trying to work up to an average of 5k steps per day, and after that I’m shooting for 7k.

I just noticed that 1700 steps is almost the number of yards in a mile. Since it was a 20 minute walk, I only moved at 3 mph, which is a normal walking pace, but I’m normally closer to a 15 minute mile in happier times. I will probably get back there… after summer is over!

My walking speed is also currently 3 mph. We could have a nice walk if we were near each other 😊

The range is not as good as it could be. I still do PT every day (I note it in my workout notes, not here)

Sorry, TMI: Skipping rope is something I started doing when I lived in a very hot cliimate (Arizona, US) and was stuck inside during summer and couldn't run so 🤪. After doing it regularly, the season changed and I went back to jogging; it felt easier! Excellent I thought: it's a way to get in shape without going outside on hot days . Once you practice it for a while your body gets used to doing it more efficiently and the hr doesn't spike so badly. If it's a stressful day, and I notice I'm getting winded or feel like it's really hard, I break it into minute on and walking around for one minute, then back to skipping. Or regular skips mixed with the slower step sort of skipping. If you start skipping rope -> wear good quality shoes and don't jump on concrete unless it has one of those exercise mats. It's possible to give yorself hairline fractures in the foot bones. Don't ask. lol

I'm so glad you are getting steps in, and going out for walks LumberJack. : )

I had a 20-min walk yesterday, and a 25-min one today. Yesterday I did not get to 5K steps as per my iphone, but I think that number is severely understated because I was doing a LOT of cleaning yesterday and the steps involved with moving things from room to room and back again add up. I didn't have the phone in my pocket, because I'm pretty sure that getting that focused on my step count would become another OCD issue. Knowing this, I have so far resisted the urges to get really fricken precise here. On my 25 min walk this morning, the step count clocked in at 2800, which maps to about 3.8 MPH based on my simplified calculation. This is a decent jump, but tbf, yesterday I passed through a LOT more elevation change than I did on this morning's walk.
