family housing crisis

stuck in place yet again

as of last month i have officially moved into a unit in long beach, and after all the hoops mental ordeals and suicidal ideation of 7 years, in san diego. The management that lowkey backed us into looking for legal aid, forced a unofficiall move out date. Which idk if they can do legally or not. So my mom sister and dog, have been living in a hotel in sandiego. They are in between jobs, and have been paying with savings, and all the rooms theyve looked into so far rejected them either due to lack of income or because we have a dog. The forstering place, we privously temporarily put our dog in, also hasn't replied back. Not much response from jobs, since the computer field my sister is applying to is over crowded already, and with government shutdown even the food stamps are uncertain. The shelters all have a long waitlist, so we are trying even just a studio. so far we move all the our stuff into public storage. my sister still attends community college, so ideally till her semester finishes they want to stay there. We don't have anyone who can cosign for us either.

Does anyone know any resources, referreals, or know any jobs or places hiring in san diego?

so far we tried 211, section 8, i thin considered habitat for humanity at some point. airbnbs are too expensive to afford. We have been trying to reach out to everyone and anyone we can think of, and all of our relatives are too far to help.

I'm sorry you've gone through so much and that you haven't found a good solution despite having tried so hard.

I don't have any specific resources in so-cal that I can think of that you haven't already tried. What I've written below is just some stuff that I think might be helpful, and I don't mind if you want to ignore it.

I think you might be able to get your dog classified as an ESA, and then you would be able to keep your dog even if a landlord has a no pets policy. I posted something about ESA's a while back that might be relevant:

While the law might be on your side regarding an ESA, if a landlord doesn't want a dog on their property, I would be unsurprised if they found a way to harass you or makes life difficult.

The san diego housing and job markets may be bad enough that moving as far away as you need to might be the best answer. I remember seeing a tv news story about how a lot of people are living in their cars in the san diego area. That was a few years ago, and as far as I know the situation is as bad as or worse than ever.

I wonder if your sister could get a room with roommates, and maybe you and your mom and dog could find housing outside of san diego.

thanks honestly, idk rlly cuz the thing is i am 2 sems away from graduating and currently live with roommates and my family decided its better in san diego than moving closer to long beach where i am to start over without a job. So they are looking for rooms for rent and other places where they can live with our dog. Since even shelter have waitlists there T.T
