Been taking the gummies the last 2 nights. Hasn't helped me with sleep at all. Rapid heart rate , hot flushes and can't stay asleep for more than 2 to 3 hours at a time. I'm exhausted . I'm at my wits end have no idea what to do. I don't have energy to enjoy anything anymore , all I feel is my joint pain, and that's it. It's like life is finally telling me to throw in the towel
Obvious not a doctor caveat but check about fibromyalgia

I have the same issue, as far as waking up every 2-3 hours. Sometimes even every hour. I'm pretty sure that something is causing it. So rather than find more medication to take, I've actually been trying to get rid of certain medications. Klonopin, being one, as well as my antidepressant in the near future (I'm still on a low dose currently). I even stopped smoking cigarettes. So far, my sleep is still unchanging, but I'll be making more changes in the future. Sorry that the THC/CBD gummies didn't work for you. I read the entire thread, and I know you were really hopeful it would do something.

That is definitely a possibility, but I'm unaware of any tests that can be done to reliably conclude i do have fibromyalgia. I'm getting a blood test next week to see if i have any deficiencies etc ..

Yes I was definitely hopeful about it . Do you think it is possible that years of being on amitriptyline and sometimes drinking alcohol with it permanently damaged my brain ?

Amitriptyline is sedating and often prescribed to help with sleep. Coming off it definitely can cause insomnia at least for the short term. I would discuss with your doctor. I would also look into low impact exercise like yin yoga to help with sleep and joint pain.

I stopped taking it back in July or so. But before then I was taking it also intermittently which I know I shouldn't have, I'll have a talk with my doctor

As I understand it, there is a newer generation of the drug, Nortriptyline (which has been around for awhile), but as was explained to me, it was designed to produce less adverse/or side-effects, than Amitriptyline. A good question for you Dr., and possible/or potential alternative, should you desire to simply change up your AD, yet stay from within the same drug class. Note: it may be less potent (though I don't know that for sure). Meaning, need more of it, to equal the other, which may be one reason they've got you on it, instead. For it's therapeutic benefit, or effectiveness. That said, perhaps the other would yield still some positive effects for you, versus or opposed to simply foregoing it altogether. Again, a good question to have with your p-doc. Here is some info on them, if (you're) interested: & it's perfectly o.k., if you're not~! :)* https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/in-depth/antidepressants/art-20046983 (you'll note near the bottom, some gereralities, or commonalites, from amongst them...)

Permanently? No, I highly doubt it. You say you stopped taking the antidepressant in July. Do you still drink alcohol? And also, how was your sleep when you were still on the med versus when you first got off?

I remember I eventually became tolerant to amitriptyline where it didn't put me in a deep sleep, so I stopped taking it. It only worked when I took it intermittently. And i don't drink alcohol anymore

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll bring it with the dr and ask about it

Then honestly I wouldn't be surprised if your med disrupted your sleep pattern in some way, even if you took it intermittently. But since you're already off of it, maybe it'll just take some time for things to improve.

i had many bad side affects from amitriptyline. So the Doc put me on nortriptyline. Loads better and i have no side affects. It does not help me sleep. However it does stop my nerve based migraines and lessons my fibromyalgia, which is also a nerve based pain.

I'm at the dr now. I will be asking about nortriptyline. I am also requesting a blood test . I'm getting desperate and starting to feel delirious for sleeping only 2 hours a night for weeks on end, maybe 4to5 hours at best randomly . But for the most part almost every night in getting 3 hours or less. My joints haven't felt this bad in years. I'm thinking of suicide almost every day and I have a plan in place if worst comes to worst. But I don't want to go there yet until I look at every option. I'm so tired the only thing I can think of every morning upon awaking is wishing I wasn't born. Its the same thought I keep thinking when I try to go for a walk or anything . I'm supposed to do a charity event at a haunted house which makes me happy every year on Halloween. But I'm so much in pain and no sleep I don't know what I can do . I jsut want to ne normal. I don't care about luxuries or being rich, I just want to be normal

Fibromyalgia is an absence of a diagnosis and means unexplained pain. There isn't any test, it's the ruling out of everything else. Insomnia is common.
I'm sorry the gummies didn't help...have you thought about using full thc ones, without cbd? Not sure if it's possible for you but may help you get some sleep as they would be much stronger.

I will bring this up to the dr at my next review appointment and ask for the full thc ones and see what they say. In the meantime I'm just suffering .

I read a bit more about fibromyalgia and it sounds like I may have it. Insomnia plus gastric issues , I also have ibs as well as insomnia and joint pain. Have you heard or taken the medication Milnacipran? Apparently this drug can help with fibromyalgia? I might bring this up with my dr next

I hope that they were able to help you some, with what you are dealing with... @Jezah81 ~& that, they've come up with some ideas on how they can maybe even help you. I hope you've disclosed enough info. to them - in order for them to be of service & actual good use. If it's at the absolute moment of peak, or climax with respect to your crisis (situation), then I might suggest checking yourself in. In order to get yourself stabilized, and some help. Sometimes, a night and a bed (or two/three... etc*) can indeed be good for you, just in & of itself, or on their own. Like a "time-out," from life. Depends on the individual. Usually when I am this sleep deprived, I am not making my best decisions and using my best judgement. If I am giong to be going out--I want it to be on, 'My Own Terms.' And so, in other words. . . with a clear head, thought &/or conscious~ / so on, and so forth^~.* Peace, and best wishes. Hoping something can help.

I have been managing my pain without pain medication for 15years now. The meds knock me out to the point I won't wake if my kids need me and I don't like the side effects.
Physical therapy has been a life saver for the fibro pain and symptoms. CBT therapy helped me to train my thinking in regards to the pain and other symptoms. Doing the exercises daily does help. I also use thc daily but its legal here and I don't want to talk too much on it because it sounds like you don't have easy access.
It's much different in the states, healthcare is often on demand here. I'm wondering if there is a reason you can't go to the emergency room, or a clinic just to get something stronger to help with sleep? If this has been covered, apologies, I didn't read through the thread.
I really feel for you, sleep deprivation is the worst will lead to psychosis, please at least rest, try some visuals, like day dreams, something pleasant, just to relax the mind so you're not always focused on sleeping.

i've been there. When CBD n THC became legal for medicinal only, my kids were young. my doc tried to talk me into them. i refused because i had to be there 24/7 for my kids. Also refused anything stronger than OTC Tylenol. Everything they tried to give me made me not be at my 100%. For some reason, when a parent, knowing what is needed from you, is often what is needed to keep going through the pain. Now that they are all adults... as long as i am not needing to work or other plans... and i am alone, i can no longer handle the pain. i will then use the other methods needed to ease my pain. THC, CBD, Tramadol. i can not have opioids (Extreme allergy).

Personally i have found PT made much of my back pain worse. However, my fibro pain gets better with motion. You often hear that a body in motion stays in motion. Walking really helped me a lot with managing fibro. Also helped reduce my stress and allow me to sleep better. If you could find something you enjoy doing that keeps you in motion. swimming, walking, biking, a sport... it might help with both pain and sleep.
