So I've been severely constipated, possibly due to the Seroquel I'm taking. And I'm also scared to death to have my psychiatrist change my meds and give me something else because what if I get some kind of other intolerable side effects from it or what if it doesn't work for my hallucinations. Feels like an impossible situation, to be honest, but something has to be done because I'm in pain at this point. I hadn't gone in like 8 or 9 days until today. And my stomach is still distended and hard as rock. These past few days have been utter torture. I also started panicking because nothing was working and I had tried so many laxatives. So they gave me a benzo just this one time. I don't want to get addicted to these things again so hopefully I won't have to keep taking them.
that is dangerous, i hope they can help you soon

Have you thought about taking something daily? I get severely constipated from my medications too. I was told by a doctor in the er to keep taking something called ''Restoralax''.... I don't know if you can get it where you live, but I think it's a stool softener, so not a stimulant laxative that can give you cramps. Also, i find eating bran muffins help, and not flax seeds because I just don't want to buy them and buy a grinder and put in it a blender with a smoothie, but that might help. I bought sesame snaps and that worked well.

I'm unbelievably fucking irritated as hell. This is the third week of "admin hell" - meaning I have not had a single business transaction go through without the company on the other end screwing at least one thing up. And then they make me jump through hoops confirming to the bot that yes, I did try every single help article and I did read the FAQs - just to wait 30+ minutes for a live person who is apparently on another continent because the signal is more garbled than not. Adding to the time taken out of my day, I need to also convince the poor agent that I have a problem that cannot be fixed online (because in fact both their app and their website do not work as they should) I know my reception is fine because I do NOT have that problem calling my friends in other states. At least not as frequently, that is.

So, just to pay a bill that I have had on auto-pay with no issues since April, suddenly THEIR system fks up and I get a nasty gram about my overdue balance. To keep from getting sent to collections, I have to spend upwards of an hour trying to fix what they broke. Fuck all of these people. God damn. It's just one thing after another and of course I cannot just take my business elsewhere because I do need health insurance and I'm only eligible for the ACA marketplace, and I need to pay rent, too, etc etc

It sounds like we deal with the same companies. At least the same kind of companies! Sorry you're going through Admin hell right now.

Surviving. The stress and anxiety was developing into panic attacks yesterday. My panic attacks just involve imploding inside my head while all my vitals remain normal and I give off the appearance of perfect calm. Yesterday I was convinced I was dying several times, eventually got home, took my blood pressure and it was perfect with a steady heart rate. Had some more panic this morning and very nearly cancelled everything, but kept getting normal blood pressure readings and eventually convinced my brain I was OK. I've traced the panic back to propranolol. It's a great little aid but yet another med I react badly to. I felt some anxiety creeping in on Tuesday so took 10mg just to get through meetings, then ended up dosing again later in the day, Unfortunately this is like building a damn against adrenaline. The adrenaline builds up and god help you with the rebound if you happen to have adrenal release as the propranolol is wearing off - like a damn bursting and you get it all at once. I've had a few waves but managed to get to the office for a couple of meetings and so far so good. Though I really do need to get some sleep. Turns out propranolol screws with sleep as well as it blocks melatonin production πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Wishing you seamless bowel movements.

Seriously, I hope the constipation improves.

The hospital staff at this place are absolutely ridiculous. I told them multiple times that the reason I may be constipated is because of the Seroquel. I also asked for a psych consult multiple times for that reason. They never got me one. I had to call my outpatient psych and get him to switch me to something else. By then, 3 days had already passed where something could have been done. I also keep telling them that certain things haven't worked (i.e. enemas and suppositories) and they still keep giving me enemas and suppositories, regardless. And no, they hadn't worked, just like I had already told them. On top of that, I told them several times that I can't tolerate eating any food yet, and they keep bringing me food. I should seriously be able to sue this hospital. I wouldn't be surprised if I actually have a partial bowel obstruction and they hadn't caught it on the catscan.

Turns out I was right. X-ray showed an obstruction, though the nurse won't tell me if its a partial or complete obstruction. She said the doctor will tell me. I hope it's only a partial. With a complete obstruction, supposedly no food or gas is able to pass, and for me it can, thank God. So I'm hoping it's not that. Also, the fact that they knew I had an obstruction and still brought me a tray of food 3 times today is messed up. The first thing you do with an obstruction is not eat for a few days or it can make it worse. Seriously, are these people out of their minds?

I really don't like this night nurse. She's literally mutilating my arm trying to find a vein. I told her no finally and to get someone else. Her first stick, she literally drew no blood at all and then said "oh, it's okay, I still got it" and proceeded to try to flush the IV with saline. Obviously, it hurt, and I told her no, you don't have it, that hurts. She tried to argue until I told her assertively to take it out and get someone else to do this. I have multiple bruises on both arms now and one of them is even from the tourniquet she used to tie my upper arm with. She literally snapped it right on my arm and said "oh, you bruise easily". Yes, yes I do. Which is why when I tell you it hurts, maybe listen next time.

Nervous. As soon as I get health insurance squared away I will be giving notice to work that I'll be quitting. This will be the first time in my life that I'll be not looking for a job but trying to get acclimated to not having any income. The boss has turned down my desire for pt work so he's giving me more grunt work to keep me busy. And His boss admitted today that they are unsure about more design work coming in- (I'm a design engineer by trade). So it is time.
But I won't have any income and have to go 2 years living on my savings. And that makes me nervous because I have had good income for the past 15 years. I may as @AvidFan suggested do contract work but I hate having to interview. That would help.
But in the meantime I am nervous. And I'll probably pepper SF with posts to vent the nervousness. It's only two months at the latest to my new life.
It's natural to be nervous. Best of luck with the transition. We will be here for you S. Would you consider getting a small job, but not in your field, like at a store or non-profit?
