i feel as though i am just machanical. No thoughts or feelings involved in most of my actions and doings.

i would take you up on that, and appreciate it greatly, i just cant figure things out to be able to describe it.
That's okay. I hope even if it's not really evident at the moment, there's some healing trickling into the right places in your mind.

Worried. My central air system died. It's 24 years old and will cost well over $10K to fix. Im ok with window units but my fiance is stressing me out over this.
At least you got 24 years out of it. In Arizona, we start saving up for a replacement at 5 years in a roof unit, and we thank whatever powers we believe in if it lasts for 7. Still, for a full sized family home, that A/C system is going to run $10-12k depending on the size. That’s also using the A/C 2-3 times the total hours of use yearly compared to other climates, so it’s about the best we could expect.

It doesn’t help though to be looking at a 5-figure repair bill suddenly. And your fiancé’s input is clearly more stressful than you need right now. A/C used to be a luxury to me, and few houses in my neighborhood had more than a swamp cooler. Now it’s a necessity with rising temperatures globally. Indoor spaces that get too hot are a health risk.

Hyperthermia is no joke, and with the fact that you would sweat profusely without realizing it, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance is assured with enough time in a hot enclosed room. Don’t ask me how I know, but I do know. I do hope that you can get at least a window unit. I have had good results with one.

Upset. I told my son to put in an application anywhere, mcDonalds or anything today. I got up to grumbling, more grumbling. and other things I wont mention.. I left, he was still sleeping an hour ago, demanding to know if ''will you let me back in'' he knows darn well what he was supposed to be doing today. No, I'm not letting him back in tonight.

It's not hard to walk to McDonalds and fill out an application form. Or other places. I'm getting fed up with being used. I buy the food, I pay for everything for years...I have a limited amount of money left and he's taken enough of my generousity. He doesn't pick one dang thing up off the floor. I stepped in water in front of the sink, stepped on gum and tissue trying to get the outside door to lock .. He knows how to get me when I'm tired. Almost gave him my keys last night and he would have stayed out. I can't keep doing this. My place is a mess because I cant pick up after him and myself. Bending hurts. I'm ready to rebook a housecleaning service soon. Both our messes are attracting fruit flies. I can be messy myself but not to this extent. I need my own space.

Edit to add. He actually had the nerve to say to me a couple of times that I shouldn't be drinking protein boost drinks because they are expensive. He's obviously thinking about what money will be left for him and I'm done. I mentioned something about his brother once and his question after (it wasn't about money we were talking about) was... you left your will all to him? ughhh I'm done.

Sorry to hear this Lane, and just in time for summer. That's a big financial hit.
When I lived in N. Az, the central AC stopped working the week that I listed the house for sale. I lucked out and it was fixable by replacing the capacitors. 'Only' 3500. Best to you getting through this and keeping cool an not too stressed.
