It's been years since I saw my aunt when she was still on her own in her house. She lost so much weight I almost didn't recognize her. Her feet used to be so swollen, she has diabetes. They look great now! I'm thankful her daughter and son are taking good care of her. Of course, she misses her independence.
I only brought grapes because she likes them. Her daughter (my cousin) was worried I'd judge, I'm not judging. She said she makes people feel sorry for her that she doesn't get her sweets. I kind of chuckled when she showed me while my Aunt was in the bathroom an empty wrapper. They were the exact diabetic friendly chocolates that I bought and ate the whole thing too. Hey she's in her 85th year, I told her I'd have done the same thing, I don't think she heard me. If you cant enjoy some sweets sometimes I'd be finding those same chocolates and eating them too. I know they are doing an excellent job of taking care of her, her feet are no longer swollen, she has a comfortable chair to watch out the window, and she still goes for walks. It was so nice to see her.
I did need my pain med. It hurts to sit for hours. I really hope soon my doctor would listen to me. I only get 2 5/325 oxycodone a day for 5 years. I use robaxacet but I'm not supposed to because of high blood pressure. It was still good and I can hide my pain, it does no good to complain. It's a rainy cooler day but I was so happy to see her doing well.
