I don't think I can take much more. I've spent the entire weekend bracing for today, a day of long remote meetings in the heat I checked the wrong emails yesterday - turns out most work has been cancelled (a few sunny days and the excuses start to roll in) and everyone decided to use the mail inbox I don't monitor (I search my main inbox to see if there's anyone upcoming who's messaged to try to protect my time). So I'm down financially as well as having paid an anxiety tax over nothing. There's no update on my stupid background check after 4 weeks - at this point there won't be and my one financial safety buffer is gone. I'm really spiralling. For a while it's been "I can't carry on doing this." but I've somehow forced myself to keep going. At the moment I really don't want to do this any more - my heath's collapsed/collapsing, my livelihood is collapsing, I have multiple problems that require money and bandwidth to solve, and I have neither. The cost of existing is far outweighing any benefits or little upsides it might once have had.
