How Are You Feeling Right Now?

I'm relieved the garden task is out of the way but worried about how depleted I feel and the relentless pain. Scared it's going to become a chronic intractable life-changing issue. 6 weeks since this awful acute phase but was brewing before that. Going to get some food then check back here as I'm worried about someobe here too and hope they're ok.

I'm also getting tired of this retirement gig. Up at 5:45, got a lot of chores done, and it's only 1:30pm. My leg and hip are still hurting. The senior center activities pretty much end at noon. I knew it would be hard for me which is why I wanted pt but the universe had other plans.

Maybe it's the pain talking...

Still depleted, didn't get much sleep last night, haven't had much for 6 weeks. Having horrible days where I wake up frustrated by lack of sleep, try to rally for the morning, feel ground down by early afternoon into evening, then perk up a little last thing at night. Working from home tomorrow so at least no torture transport on the bus (imagine a bunch of muscles gripping your pudendal and sciatic nerves like a vice then run heavy vibration through the whole thing while compressing it with your body weight.... ouch). The pain is wearing me down a bit. Am asking for more pain relief tomorrow, will be shitty weak opioids but that will be better than pointless NSAIDs for nerve pain.

I'm feeling very humbled and appreciative. In my latest downturn, I had forgotten about the love that courses through my family, that we all hold each other in. Today I had the privilege to attend a beautiful wedding between my second cousin and the love of their life... The things they said in the vows and really, every time they addressed each other, sounded to me exactly like the little expressions of love that my partner and I shared when we were together. More tellingly, I saw their eyes when they were gazing at each other. I think it's impossible to fake that level of affection in eye contact. My heart just about exploded, lol.

I'm incredibly happy for them and I feel like their future is very promising. Love is more important than money at all times, and since they have love, they are already quite successful. I'm cautiously optimistic though, because I know marriages don't have a high sticking rate here in the USA. I've seen friends get married and then divorce just months later. However, whatever happens I want to be there in any way that I can be supportive for them. <3

Another truly awful night and another day waking up to pain. Just sent another triage form in asking for better pain relief. Also subtly making a point that neither arthritis nor sciatica have these symptoms with this type of onset - because I have a complex nerve/muscle condition which is known to mimic sciatica among other things (but the arthritis is just lazy, poor medicine which will waste NHS time for nothing). Unfortunately you need to be very educated and strategic to find a way through this mess. At least it gave me something to chew on while drinking my coffee.

Can't sleep. It's been 3 weeks with the thrush. I've been doing the nystatin rinses (on my 2nd bottle) and have taken 12 days worth of diflucan orally. I still have sores and slime in my mouth.

Not eating has really affected me. I was brought a meal last night and managed to eat it and was amazed at how much better I felt.

This sucks.

Very sorry avid that your going through this.

Got a call from the GP. They've prescribed the weakest ass codeine possible - a few milligrams stronger than I could buy OTC in any shop. LOL. 15mg vs 12.8mg in nurofen plus. Clinically subtherapeutic, so I doubt I'll need to avoid cooking as it might be dangerous I'll be so knocked out. Have to laugh.
I get that that's very frustrating, however the GP, who probably doesn't know you that well has to start off low with codeine. If he prescribed everyone a higher start dose he would struggle when increasing, everyone would end up on high doses and addicted. Take them for 72 hours, if no use, go back to the GP immediately. Nice guidelines state that codeine should only be used for 3 days.
