If she thinks Samhain is a Satanic holiday wait til she finds out about Ostara and Yule lol. Feel free to look them up and ruin her bad opinions.
If you think that's bad, you should hear how she feels about rainbows. lol
Since I spend time with her often enough, I tend to suppress a lot of shit around her.

The only real question I want people to answer is …”Do you remember your first costume or what was your first “I want to be……”
The first and only time I dressed up was as a kid and it was a bad costume from poundland or something. It was basically a plastic sheet with a foam butcher's knife on it.
Are you dressing up this year? If not……If you had a reason to..what would your costume be?
I don't know if I ever will dress up again, but If I could choose anything... I would have to go with Raziel from the Legacy of Kain games. I love his design and he is actually pretty spooky, so it's fitting.

I know it's also a thing to dress up as anyone/thing you want though, even if it's not remotely scary (although I guess you could still say it'd be scary when it's me wearing it :D). For the non-scary pick, the spy from Team Fortress 2 would be awesome. My favourite character from quite possibly my all-time favourite game, who I'd say is very fancy (and I am a fan of the fancy). Halloween would be the perfect excuse to dress up in the current loadout I have for him (bit of a rough image, but it shows the stuff well enough):

I actually have that crab in real life as well, although it's red instead of purple unfortunately.

Thanks for the tag @RCee
Not huge on Halloween anymore unfortunately. Just don't have the opportunity to do anything for it since growing up. But I have fond memories of most, if not all, of what was mentioned in the OP.

I haven't worn a costume in a long time, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to think of something creative and interesting to dress as.

Horror movies don't interest me much. Not necessarily because they're too scary. Well, I don't really like jumpscares, but other types of horror just don't tend to be interesting to me. I can do things like psychological thrillers maybe. idk.

I think I remember seeing pics of myself as a baby dressed as a pumpkin. I remember one year I went as US Founding Father Patrick Henry with a costume leftover from a performance/speech I had done at school, but everybody thought I was George Washington. My best Halloween costume ever was a homemade R2-D2 costume made mostly from a laundry basket and blue painter's tape. My mom, sister, and neighbor all helped me with that one. Was back around when the prequels were coming out, and I was obsessed with Star Wars. That year my sister dressed up as Padme/Queen Amidala

As a kid I always loved getting Reese's or Kit Kats as Halloween candies, or I do remember also being excited one time that I got one of those packages of gum. I forget which kind. I feel like it might've been Dr Pepper flavored, but I can only find evidence of Dr Pepper flavored gum existing as Hubba Bubba, and I remember it as possibly Bubble Yum, the one with the funky looking duck on the logo. Maybe it was the strawberry lemonade kind? Or maybe I'm conflating 2 experiences.

Wish I could have more fun on Halloween, but I usually just get myself a box of candy and stay in all night.

No, no, haven't done that since I was a kid.
I dressed up once as an adult I guess - for a party - but I really wasn't into it.

Do you remember your first costume
I don't remember my first one no. I do remember going as a die (you know, one half of a pair of dice.. no idea, mom made it), the tin man (was a very cool costume), a ghost (complete with white sheet and eye holes) and a pumpkin

Best candy or sweet?
That you get for Halloween? Any full sized candy bar lol

It’s a day dedicating to stuffing your face with as much food as you can…no not the true meaning..just what it has become
I was going to return to answer this question for @Pebble mouse with this exact message but you beat me to it.
I'm going back to the States for Thanksgiving (which also happens to be my birthday this year) and all it really means is a fantastic day to gain 5 lbs.

Thank you for opening and the tag @RCee . As a kid it was the standard gypsy costume. And trick or treating in the neighborhood. As a very young child we got the plastic mask costumes (below). It was hot 🔥 under there for sure.

Now, I basically just get candy and wait for trick or treaters.

When I used to work in the clubs I'd have to wear some sexy get ups, but those days are over. My fondest memories are making the children's costumes. The hardest one was when my daughter wanted to be a 🌈 rainbow! Ha. I also made an elephant and jungle Jane when they were babies. Thanks for letting me reminesce. 😊 Screenshot_20211021-064300.jpg Screenshot_20211021-064157.jpg

Hey @RCee great cafe and thanks for the tag! Have always loved Halloween.
The first costume I remember wearing was a giant, fake, Marlboro Cigarette box. I was about 5yrs, lol gotta love the 80s. I dont really dress up anymore, the last costume I wore was a spider my sis an I made from garbage bags and newspaper.
I pretty much like all candy above dollar store grade. Hope all have a good rest of the week!
