I remember being an angel, must have been 4 or 5.
Adult years I recycled the same as a hippie...I still have my Levi maxi skirt from the 70's and a halter top, leather braid straps, hat, HUGE loop earrings, a piece of jewelry that I haven't seen come back around......it's a ring and bracelet connected by chain, socks with toes in them

Why are you all tagging each other? Does anyone think about what it is like for the people who don't get tagged? It feels like there's a little in-group of people (the popular ones) tagging and thanking each other for their tags and everyone else is not invited or less significant, though - of course - I can't speak for anyone else. To be fair, at least on this occasion the opening post isn't saturated with tags, but they soon come thick and fast.
Hey British Woman. I have seen a Jim's Cafe with no tags before, it also has no posts. We tag people to try to get their interest, and I know it can make it seem sort of "insider" or not, but we tend to tag the regulars on here to keep the Cafes alive, to make them active for anyone who wishes to join in to find a vibrant and active thread to join in on, and aside from anything else, more posts means its in the "recent posts" section for longer so its easier to find, so if anything we're using the "in crowd" as bait and window dressing.
That being said I get that it makes it look like anyone not tagged is not invited, and the next time I make a cafe I will make SURE to point out thats not the case and encourage people to tag new members as well, but there is only so much we can do without the ability to send links to every accounts inbox.

I hate Halloween. I mean i like dressing up and parties and such but on Halloween night I get something like 300 + kids coming for candy. Not only does it get expensive but They still bang on the door and ring the doorbell in spite of the light being out and the big "no candy " sign. And I don't get to see the kids I'm so busy handing candy out. Thank goodness it's only two hours! I am a grinch about Halloween. Bah humbug I say to Halloween

No, but I have a face that is made for Halloween and it seem normal instead of just giving folks the heebie jeebies, pale pasty and three fine noticeable face scars. LOL If I were to dress up I would look like one of two characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

For those of you that celebrate Harvest….._Giving thanks to family and others as well as your community I am sure this is a time to relish in love
Always give thanks and yes living in farmland harvest is a thing.
For those that believe in ghosts of present past and future. This is a time to share with those loved and long lost.
I do think something is out there, or here and have seen things in this house that convince me but my grandfather and mother both died in this house. There is an oddness at times, but nothing that seem bad, more curious. Things that seem to disappear but then I find them in the master bedroom where the deaths happened. Like something or someone wanting me to check in there at times.
Alright…. Anyone have any scary movies they love? Or franchise
The original The Haunting(1960) is a favorite, more creepy and suspense, the weirdness happening in the corner of the eye than cheap jump scares.
The only real question I want people to answer is …”Do you remember your first costume or what was your first “I want to be……”

I love Halloween!!! I don't know if I remember my first Halloween costume, but the youngest I can remember ever wearing a costume was about 8 or 9 dressed up as a pirate. I still remember wearing an orange and yellowish red bandana (it made me sweat a lot and I was hot). I wore a black eye patch and black makeup. It was real fun. I am not sure if I will dress up this year. I want to but it depends how I am feeling that day. Love these Halloween threads, @RCee!
Tagging is just to bring interest to the thread (or people don't show up) Tagging NEW people is highly recommended so that they can have a place to hang out and get into the site in more places than just threads where people are feeling terrible. The "regular people" around here are likely to show up without a tag but it doesn't stop people from tagging them anyway.

I like Halloween, I don't celebrate it hardcore, but I usually at least carve a pumpkin and take my son trick or treating around the neighborhood (this will probably be the last year we go, as he's almost 14).
My ex and I did throw a huge Halloween bash years ago when we still lived in Atlanta. We owned a couple of acres with woods and pulled out all the stops, made a "Haunted Forest", decked the house out to the nines, put about a dozen jack-o'-lanterns around the yard/porch. We dressed up as the guys from 'Tool Time' on Home Improvement lol. It was fun.
I can't really remember the first costume I ever wore as a child..One I do remember (not sure how old I was) was a gorilla soldier from the Planet of the Apes..it was the early 70s and the film series was hot at the time.
As for candy, I have always been a Twizzlers™ fan..
So many great horror/macabre/ghost/monster films to choose from. John Carpenter's original Halloween (1978), which I just watched the other night, is the yardstick by which all other "slasher" films will be judged. A classic in all respects.
But my personal favorite (and one I still have a hard time watching) is 'Salem's Lot (1979) with David Soul, Bonnie Bedelia, Fred Ward, Reggie Nalder and the inimitable James Mason.
Here's a small taste..watch if you dare lol..

I totally understand...I remember staying home on a few occasions to pass out candy. The Atlanta neighborhood I lived in was big, and there were a lot of kids. Most of them were no problem, but there'd always be an odd number of older teenagers that I'd have to boot off the porch.
