Christmas Eve is normally super stressful trying to get everything ready and perfect for the big day. Of course nobody really cares if it's perfect or not apart from me so I have no idea why I work myself up into a frenzy.

Christmas Day is normally better, not least because I tend to be fairly well soaked by midday and then someone has to take over the cooking as I can't stand up ;)

For me Christmas Eve has always felt more like Christmas than Christmas Day the whole family would get together my biggest sadness is we are no longer doing that.
Warning it's a bit sad
Yeah it's currently 8pm my mom just finished preparing and no one came lol my mom is upset and I got upset that she wants our relatives to come even just for a few minutes to visit our grandma who can barely move. We already took her in cos none of our relatives wants to take care of her which is like broooo like literally none. So there's that I'm just hiding in my room to not add more negativity out there.
Merry Christmas to everyone whether you're celebrating tonight or tomorrow. I really wish y'all Christmas goes well!
Lastly ;) Mom @Sassy the Wonderful Cat Thanks for the invite! *hug

Merry Christmas @Sassy the Wonderful Cat Just wish it wasn't so different this year.

Christmas Eve will be a parking lot service at church.
Christmas Day was always the big day in my family. A wonderful ham dinner and gifts. Has not been the same since parents died over 30 years ago and my brother and I became the 'old ones'. This year we will not get together at all. I left gifts at my nieces yesterday. She and her kids and I chatted for a while in the garage. The only creature I could touch was their dog, but even that was nice. But can still honor the reason for the season, the birth of Christ.

Today- Christmas Eve - in a few hours I will meet my grandson. Usually I get together with my siblings and their families but not this year. I invited myself to a friend's house for Christmas Eve dinner though so I wont be alone. Then tomorrow I invited myself to my brother's house but the weather is supposed to be wet and windy so I might not go. But I will try. I am rather buoyant this year probably due to the baby. But I won't take the chance of negativity on Christmas Day so I also set up a Zoom meeting for Christmas. Saturday I deliver presents to my sister and her family. Then Sunday maybe I can clean my house. It is busy this year and I was so afraid of being alone and bored this Christmas.
Sorry for being wordy.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone *grouphug2 What is everyone looking forward to the most. Is Christmas Eve more a thing for you or is Christmas Day
Hey Merry Merry Sassy!

now that i’m finally partially awake i think i can actually come in and say good morning to everyone. sooo....

Good Morning Everyone.

I have a lot of Christmas Past, but present i’m not so sure of, which means that i have to look forward to Christmas Future.

as i was growing up there were times when christmas eve was the big celebration and other times it was christmas day. but i think generally it was both since eve was the (secret) prep/wrap festivities and christmas morning was the magic unwrapping, and special breakfast festivities and then there were many years with afternoon eggnog and cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and the like (in dribs and drabs of course) and i guess tinkering around with new possessions! these days the festivities have dwindled and the biggest reason is actually two reasons: kid’s birthday #1 and kid’s birthday #2 both of which fall in such close proximity to the season’s holidays that the birthdays definitely take precedence! but i miss the magic and am definitely looking forward to being a kid again in coming years.

meantime, wishing everyone a merry christmas (to those who celebrate) and a merry (or happy) thursday and friday to all!!!
