An interesting question as I'm looking back (ancient at 54) when very young I remember wanting to be a veterinarian (probably like most kids)...my father is an antique dealer so was "directed" to go into art history in college...had brief interest in being an international art lawyer but abysmal results on LSATs and ability with French nixed that idea...went to a decorative arts grad school...and have been in museums ever since---worked in quite a variety of museums-medical, Russian/French collections, operating historic hotel and now city museum with collections and historic sites...so have enjoyed what I have done/do but toxic work environment led to anxiety/depression/exhaustion/poor job performance to point where have thought would be fired every day for last two years...have an opportunity with new director so am trying to navigate myself out of the hole I am in but realizing that I may just be just too broken to do it effectively ... so feel I may be at a cross roads as thinking what does the last ten years or so of my working career hold for me...in my brief optimistic moments think will be/could be an interesting journey...so who knows may continue in this path or start a new one...though know far too old to go to vet school...lol...
