Hello to the best community of them all! *hug Remember, YOU make it the special place it is. Without wonderful people, you can't have a wonderful community.

Here are a few questions for you today :

(1) How are you doing these days? :)

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? Do you consider your parents' generation, or further back? Don't you find it amazing to find out that you had ancestors from all over the world? *stars
(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!
(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

Have a beautiful day, everyone! And tag a friend or a stranger. ;)

Thanks for tag, @Auri. I don't feel like answering questions today but those are AMAZING snow pics.

Ups and downs, being here is a nice distraction :)

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
There have been some cold nights, where the temperature dropped below zero. I'm fine either way. My house is warm enough. It might start snowing, but this is rare. It would be awesome to have an actual snowy white Christmas

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? Do you consider your parents' generation, or further back? Don't you find it amazing to find out that you had ancestors from all over the world?
My family is supposed to originate in France. I did make a family tree in the past with an application called Aldfaer. Doing research to uncover the past got me 7 generations back on my mothers grandfather side. The other parts of the family were a lot harder to trace back.

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!
I think my length is average, being 5' 9" (175 cm) although there are many guys here that are taller. When I think about dating someone, I wouldn't want my partner to be taller than me. So kudos for all the short girls :P

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?
I like games of all sorts. I play video games the most of them. Skyrim and Anno 2070 are some of my favourites. Most simulation games and games with the sci-fi or fantasy theme catch my attention. Some other titles worth mentioning are Portal (2), Astroneer and Bioshock (Infinite). When I had my old playstation 3 I also enjoyed playing Battlefield Bad Company, I remember having a lot of fun with my housemates back in university. I should also mention Overlord and Fairytale fights. And there's always the classics like Red Alert, Generals, Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon and GTA. If I made a list it would be looooong!
I don't play card games or party games often. I did play board games like Settlers of Catan, Carcasonne and Keezen (a combination of Crazy Eights and Ludo) the tabletop game I must have played the most of them all would be Rummikub!

(1) How are you doing these days? :)
Could be better (but could be worse :)

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug

Winter's fine, except the days start getting longer again, which means less sleep (at least in darkness :)

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? Yes, it would be fascinating to trace my lineage back through the centuries and maybe millennia... but I can go back only to grandparents, and only on one side of the family.

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!

6"+ and it's fine, except for plane travel :(. They seem to make the seats smaller every time I fly.

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

Used to, not so much anymore. Old 2D shoot 'em ups and platformers, for the most part. Couldn't get into modern games much (too much time wasted).

A bit more winter desert inspiration from where I used to go (and before I destroyed the pristine snow cover with my boots):

Thanks for the cafe and the tag @Auri
(1) How are you doing these days? :)
I think I might be coming down with Covid. Late Wednesday night my throat was oddly sore and now I just have a runny nose but I feel odd, that may be from too much coffee and not enough food. I am super binging vitamin C starting this morning to see if it will get me feeling better. Mentally I feel fine right now, not manic and not depressed.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
The only thing I like about winter is that spring is just around the corner.
(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? I come from an Amish background, out of Switzerland near the Austrian border is where my ancestors came from. Family is a really big deal in the Amish culture and they put out books of family trees. I have a book called "Descendants of Jacob Raber", in that book with numbers assigned to each person I can trace my entire family tree back to Jacob Raber in the 1700's. It is odd to think that the book contains a little over a thousand pages and maybe 10 families listed on each page and I am somehow related to every person in that book.
(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!
I do appreciate short ladies, they usually make up for their lack in height with a good sense of humor.
(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?
I love chess, am rated around 1000 on chess.com and I have figured out what I need to do to improve my game, I just haven't taken the time to do it. Have played chess since I was like 10 years old and I am 54 now.

Wow it must be wonderful to know all your lineage. I wish my family had such a book. I am also a chess lover! Although I can be kind of tough for you, I'm 1400 on lichess.org . No official title though. Might go for one in the future. Maybe we can play a match someday.

(1) How are you doing these days? :)

I'm miserable. I'm always miserable during the holidays. I rejected going early to the family gathering, I am postponing the maximum I can because they drain my energy so heavily! All sorts of humiliations and stepping over the boundaries because they think they are close enough to say whatever that can hurt me. Even though I have to fend off on my own. Even though I always had to somehow fend off even as a child.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
It's funny because in Brazil and Australia is summer, very heavy summer in Brazil indeed, it can be a hot place, and we get all sorts of winter vibes because of European roots and stuff.

Speaking of roots, I'm of German ancestry, but mixed with black and maybe Indian. But mostly German. I wish I knew more about my ancestry. My great grandparents were farmers and they moved to Brazil during the war. At least one of my great grandparents was a Nazi, because I saw the record, he was a soldier and fled the country. Because of this there is a kind of "don't speak about it in my family" because if we talk too much there could be backlash. That's less nowadays. So... they were mostly German farmers and maybe a soldier. There is a story of an uncle grandpa of mine being a ship captain in the Wehrmacht but I think it's a lie.
(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!
They're my weakness! My first girlfriend was 4'9, I've always had a weak spot for them. Congratulations to them! Also people should appreciate more short dudes. They have feelings too. There should be a day for them too.
(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

I love chess. I used to be into computer games but after a binge on MMORPG I decided to cut down and play only chess. It's fun.

@Auri thank you for the tag *hug and you are a won Person, always makes me smile, so thanks! *stars
I’m a bit late but I don’t mind *halo

(1) How are you doing these days?
Extreme ups and downs but I’m trying to power through.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why?
yay!! I live in a warm country and when its finally winter it’s such a relief! We don’t get much rainy or cold days so when we do I am excited! But we do get thunderstorms which I love cause they are so beautiful!

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? My parents came from Russia, they speak Russian and so do I. We celebrated the new year at a similar manner to Christmas but it’s not (I know it sounds odd but it’s called novy god- new year in rassian)

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!

So honestly I feel really bad about my hight as I feel really really tall. 5.4ft(aka 166 Cm) I wish I was shorter :/

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

I enjoy board games, although it’s hard to play when people around you are competitive lol

(1) How are you doing these days? :)

up-and-down, but not too bad. I have a lot to be thankful for.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself.

I adore autumn and winter is my favourite season by far (everything about it is right for me: blustering cold weather, shorter days). So the winter solstice on Tuesday was both good and bad. On the one hand, the beginning of winter. On the other, the days gradually start getting longer/lighter I HATE IT and I always struggle to adjust to the lighter half of the year. I wonder if I have the opposite of SAD.

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? I don't give it much thought tbh

I'm 5'5", which - when I was younger - used to be average height for a British woman. Nowadays, I suspect it's an inch or two taller (school kids seem to tower over me nowadays). Despite being more or less average height, I think I'd like to be a couple of inches taller. There's no pleasing some people ;)

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?
Nope, I run like the clappers from any and all! *hiding

I guess I'll answer since someone tagged me, but it's going to be negative, as usual.

(1) How are you doing these days? :)

Not good. I thought I was getting better for once, after getting a job that paid well and that wasn't intolerable like before... but after a while it just turned into the same routine with different dressings. Getting up, going to work, making money to pay bills and survive another day with no point or purpose to any of it.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself.

Winter is still my preferred season. It's easier to keep warm than it is to keep cool. If it's especially cold, you can always just put on more clothes, and I have no issue covering up myself with multiple layers; anything to cover up and hide my disgusting body. When it gets warm, you can only take off so much clothes, and even then it doesn't help. I dislike the warm seasons especially because that's when all the bugs come out and start bothering everybody.

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? Do you consider your parents' generation, or further back? Don't you find it amazing to find out that you had ancestors from all over the world?

Eh, my ancestry doesn't matter to me, honestly. My ancestors would probably be ashamed of me right now, considering how "good" I have it now compared to before. Still wish they would have never met and I wouldn't have been born.

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!

I'm 6'4". It leads to people asking me to get things down for them. I wish I were shorter, for more personal reasons. Being tall just makes people assume you're mature and strong, when I'm neither of those things.

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

I mostly play video games, since they're the only thing that can hold my attention for longer than a few minutes. Can't play any other games on account of having no friends. I prefer single-player role-playing games. At least in those games I get to pretend to be somebody way better than myself.

Hey! Thanks for the tag!
1.) I'm doing ok. Working on alot of self discovery and boundaries. Working with an energy healer has helped me so much and I'm glad I gave craniosacral therapy a chance.
2.) Meh it's gonna happen anyways living in Chicago. I like winter just not below 0 winter!
3.) My family is from Germany. My grandparents came here in the 1930s.
4.) I am fun sized (4'9) and don't mind at all. At least I can always find a hot guy at the grocery store to get me something down from the 3rd shelf.
5.) I love games, I have game nights with friends . My top 2 favorites are cards against humanity and exploding kittens.

Autumn and winter seem very beautiful to me. Spring and summer seem to drag on and on, whereas autumn and winter flit by in a flash! I've always preferred the darker half of the year, even as a child. The longer spring and then summer days feel over-stimulating, the sun makes me squint! I like the anonymity of dark rainy nights when everyone is scurrying home under umbrellas. I feel way too exposed in dazzling sunlight. So, whenever I can, I go out early morning, late evening, and skulk about in the shade - suits me fine! (practically, of course, I can't always do that).
I normally love nature, but hate those little snow drops (or bloody bluebells in my garden), first sign of spring *faints

Tysm for tagging me @Auri and for opening the cafe, sorry to only be replying here 4 days after it opened but I guess better late than never so here's my answers then. Hope you and everyone else had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you all the best in the new year too :)

(1) How are you doing these days? :)
Ok I guess, feeling kinda blah today but maybe it is just drop since Xmas is over who knows.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
Nay cos it's gotten too cold already and it's freaking me out. If it only gets a couple degrees under or over then that's not too bad, worse than that gets me worried. We won't be able to go out in it at all for like 3 days cos they're saying you can get hypothermia or frostbite after only being out in it for a couple mins cos of how cold it's gonna be so ya that sounds quite dreadful.

(3) It's National Roots Day today. Everyone's ancestors migrated at some point to where they live nowadays. How much value do you put on your family's ancestry? Do you consider your parents' generation, or further back? Don't you find it amazing to find out that you had ancestors from all over the world? *stars

That's cool I didn't know that. I value my family's ancestry a lot yes cos it's very interesting to me knowing what part of the world might have influenced why we might think the way we do and things like that. I consider both my parents generation and further back. I do find it amazing for sure.

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!

I'm happy with my height, it feels like it is a pretty ideal height for a woman and I am very thankful for that. I'm glad to not be in the "shortie" or "too tall" category. I'm 5'6. You're right though, no matter whether you are short, average or tall they are all beautiful, absolutely. :)

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?

I love all those kinds of games. I play games online the most out of those. Some of my fave ones are the ones I play daily, all on my iphone. They are: The Secret Society, Hidden City, Sherlock, Chef Blast, Wordplay, Word Cookies, and Sudoku.
I was playing Blockdoku too but I really suck at it so I kinda stopped lol.

You'd probably like where I live, it's winter 7 months out of the year, gets dark at 5pm.

Can be better. It sucks to continue living when you don't want to.

(2) Since Tuesday, it's officially been winter in the northern hemisphere. Yay or nay? Why? I hope you have a warm one and enjoy yourself. *hug
I'm in a hot country but still gets cold during the "winter" time. Cold for us at least.

Just up until my great grandmother I'd love to have a talk with her about her time and her parents. She is almost a hundred and my grandfather loved his mom a lot that he would drive alone for five hours just to see her and I would always tag along. Best times of my life was spent with him, unfortunately he passed when I was 10. Sorry I just missed him.

(4) The 21st was National Short Girl Appreciation Day, and I felt personally targeted. :P How tall are you? Do you like your height? There are many advantages and disadvantages to being particularly tall or short, but one thing they have in common : they're all beautiful!
I am 5'4 and I don't like my height. I just want to be taller than average women height. It's not fun to get teased by ladies lol

(5) The 20th was Games Day. Do you enjoy board games, video games, party games, card games...? What are your favourite games?
Video games is my favourite because you can alone and don't have to be physically present with others.

@Auri Thank you so much for opening the cafe and for inviting me. I know it's a very late reply hope you understand.

Have a great day everyone! Take care of yourselves!
