Hmm, not completely sure. this bird was in the park that is several blocks away from where i live right here in nyc. for many years I’ve occasionally seen a hawk or two in the neighborhood. not to get too sidetracked, once i even saw one soaring across the sky that just happened to be clear blue that day with no clouds and very high up. as it was almost exactly over head, it crossed the path of a jet (much higher of course) leaving two white streaks and bird behind it and it was so remarkable to see those two interact with each other without knowing. maybe only i knew. at that moment i so wished i was a professional photographer. watching me struggle with my cell phone must have given a couple people quite a laugh. well anyway back to the hawk in the park, i do believe that is where these hawks reside. this particular bird is either a baby or a molting adult since you can see all that fluff. it was quite content to just sit there for quite a while. and to me, it did not look quite the same as the others i have seen around here. another species visiting? don’t know. but i’m sure i’ll see him or her or another again sometime soon.
i’ve never seen a wooly bear before last year. it was crossing the street and could easily have gotten run over so i picked it up and placed it off the road amongst leaves and trees.

They look so adorable with their little cheeks stuffed with nuts and stuff!
Squirrel are great and fried squirrel...chicken of the trees. LOL
The raccoon picture has me remembering a story that my mom told about my grandfather having one of the little bandits as a pet when she was a kid back in 1940s or so. He found it orphaned and bottle fed it. It must have imprinted him as mom/dad since he was the only person who could touch it without getting bit or ripped. Somewhere here is an old picture which I wish I could take a snapshot off and post up, but it probably wouldn't come out good being faded. I would not worry about putting it up since it is of my granddad from the back and you can see that masked animal head and claws on his shoulders with him carrying the animal around like a mom or dad will carry their baby on their shoulders. I remember being told it would follow him all around like a dog or cat will follow its human.

Been busy today, few house chores and went out grocery shopping. Winter is starting to bite here in New Zealand so it's cooler outside. Lucky for me I didn't have to do my hair (which involves wetting it), just slapped on a warm hair 😂.
Tammy cat is enjoying relaxing on the bed with the sun streaming in the window on her and I'm about to watch a movie.

Good morning/ afternoon/ evening everyone! I don't know if anyone had volunteered to open today but it's just ticked over to the 29th here so I thought that I'd open the doors up!

~& U know = i never know how to prounounce those food items in the (3rd picture, was it?!?) - the ones starting w/the letter "F." ;^) when I say it, it prolly sounds like a dirty word; which... i don't believe or think, it is? (but I could be wrong: for the first time, if not in Hirstory; then most dertainly, on her~*> dah Forum's!! (;_)* = )
