Would you agree with me when I say that classic cars had character? I mean, REAL character, like a character in a book or movie? Older Mustangs, Corvettes - my personal favorite, LOVE the model from 73 - the way I look at it, a movie like "Christine" could not be made with any car produced today. Ever see "Christine?" It worked because the car they used had character.
I have always said if I could have 3 cars from the classic car/muscle car times from the Big Three:

1970 Buick GSX Stage 1.
1964 Ford Thunderbolt.
1971 Plymouth GTX with the 426 Hemi engine.

Autumn1973

Looking for people who will accept me for who I am

1) What have you missed most during all these lockdowns and panics?

Nothing really. I don't really go out much so it did not change for me.
But I miss working

2) What are you most looking forward to when the world returns to normal?

Escaping.

3) Who is the first person you plan to see that you couldn't so far when you get a chance?

No one.

4) What are the wildest or most daring plans you have made for when all this blows over and we can cut loose again?

An investment so crazy it will either ruin me or put me on top. Ten years in the planning.

5) What have you been doing to keep yourself sane whilst stuck at home and do you intend to continue it when you earn your freedom again?

Do I look sane to you?

1) Have you ever eaten a meal at your desk? Why and what was it?

Always most meals during the day I eat at my desk and when I worked I ate every meal at my desk, I do not really have as many friends as people think I do

2) Do you like Liquorice, and if so... WHY??

I do not mind it, I actually have it fairly often, it is good for easing stomach pains which I get a lot

3) What is your guilty pleasure food?

Fish in a nice batter with tomato sauce

4) What do you eat when you're trying to be good?

I always eat healthily, so I do not really know what to say

5) What food can you simply not understand that ANYONE could like?

Spinach, I will never get it, I will never eat it and I simply do not understand it

1) What question does no one ever ask you, and what's the answer?

Why do I talk to a lot of people? I am always so surprised no one asks me that.

The answer is that I am in danger when I am alone

2) What question do you wish people would stop asking you and what's the answer?

Am I suicidal, I get asked it a lot, it is no one business this fight is mine and mine alone. I will lie every time someone asks me, but the very reason you care is the very reason I do not give up. So stop asking me, I have pride

3) What's the strangest question you have ever been asked and what's the answer?

Why are you so thin?
Soon as another man asks me that I just want to fight, I may be thin but I will put you down quicker than you can blink so stop asking me.
I was not allowed food a lot growing up, so I am not used to eating enough not to be thin, there now piss off with that annoying question.
We're not supposed to understand Spinach. It's part of a massive conspiracy by The Spinach Industrial Complex. Popeye is in on it, he always has been. Don't trust him, especially when he talks about spinach. I think they're looking to take over the world by getting us all to eat spinach. "The Truth Is Out There."

Lard and bacon drippings here get used far more than vegetable oil, sometimes I am unhealthy. LOL. I do use vegetable oil for frying onion rings and French fries since it is more convenient.
i ordered leaf fat to render into lard. I didn't know what to expect, so i took what they gave me to render into lard. It didn’t go as planned. I was given fat with meat (to mix into venison sauage) because they were selling it a lot that month. It didn't go as expected.
now bacon drippings are great. Fried eggs. I made cheese stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon ,cooked in bacon grease. I made stuffed mushrooms cooked in it too. Yum.

Deskfast Day, Hamster Day, Library Worker Day, Liquorice Day, Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, Walk On Your Wild Side Day, Yuri's Night

1) Have you ever eaten a meal at you desk? oftenly at work Why and what was it? because i didn’t eat at home and allowed breakfast and work overlap, probably because it took away from working. unfortunately the coffee got cold. it was certainly donuts at many times but egg mcmuffins too, and what else similar stuff and different stuff. its a long list.
2) Do you like Liquorice, and if so... WHY?? yes, i love it. does that count? this is referring to only the black kind. and why is pretty obvious. its delicious.
3) What is your guilty pleasure food? little balls of grated parmesan from the container. i open the package and gently allow them to fall in between my fingertips and gently toss them into my mouth. then i close the jar and return it to the fridge without anyone ever seeing.
4) What do you eat when youre trying to be good? bacon and eggs, lots of cheese. hot and spicey snack food, chocolate, peeps, smarties, licquorice, circus peanuts. good, right?
(btw, peeps are particularly good around these spring months)
5) What food can you simply not understand that ANYONE could like it? beets. liver. cooked peas and carrots, sugarless no fat food that otherwise could actually be acceptable.

3) What's the strangest question you have ever been asked and what's the answer? well, i have to answer this for someone else. they asked me why i ask so many strange questions. that is so i’m not the only one who has to answer them!

So it has been pointed out to me that I havent done a Cafe in a while, truth be told I never end up answering my Cafes so its been fun seeing and responding to other people's, but its about time I got on and made one, so lets check the topics of the day:

Deskfast Day, Hamster Day, Library Worker Day, Liquorice Day, Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, Walk On Your Wild Side Day, Yuri's Night, Oh, and for anyone living in the UK, it is also the first loosening of Covid restrictions, its a minor change, but a good start.

Fun Facts
In honour of Hamster Day, these will all be hamster related facts.
1) Despite what most people who long to own one as a pet believe, hamsters are nocturnal creatures, as in the wild they spend their days hiding from predators.
2) Hamsters are also extremely solitary creatures, in the wild they will create a burrow to hide in and spend the majority of their time alone.
3) Hamsters are banned in Hawaii due to their impressive promiscuity, the local government fears that they will quickly be able to form a large population and have an impact on the local agriculture.
4) Hamsters are food hoarders, their cheeks can stretch to an impressive size to allow them to carry their own body weight in food back home, or in some cases be filled with air like a balloon to help them swim.
5) A Hamsters heart normally beats around 400 times every minute whilst at rest.

The Hopes Table
Born of my country's Covid optimism and Walk On Your Wild Side Day, this is a table for discussing and hoping for the time of freedom when the world returns to normal and we all get to have fun.
1) What have you missed most during all these lockdowns and panics?
2) What are you most looking forward to when the world returns to normal?
3) Who is the first person you plan to see that you couldn't so far, when you get a chance?
4) What are the wildest or most daring plans you have made for when all this blows over and we can cut loose again?
5) What have you been doing to keep yourself sane whilst stuck at home and do you intend to continue it when you earn you freedom again?

The Food Table
With Deskfast day, Liquorice Day, AND Grilled Cheese Sandwhich day all at once, I couldnt not have a food table.
1) Have you ever eaten a meal at you desk? Why and what was it?
2) Do you like Liquorice, and if so... WHY??
3) What is your guilty pleasure food?
4) What do you eat when youre trying to be good?
5) What food can you simply not understand that ANYONE could like it?

The DIY Table
What, you want me to think of everything? This is a self-serve table, find your own questions and answer them!
1) What question does no one ever ask you, and what's the answer?
2) What question do you wish people would stop asking you and what's the answer?
3) What's the strangest question you have ever been asked and what's the answer?

The Bar
For those who just want to say Hello
1) Say Hello
2) What do you want to tell us?

Recruitment Table
If you plan to do a Cafe tomorrow, please feel free to say "I Volunteer" in huge writing to set an example and let anyone else know so you dont double-post (I did it once and it was awkward).

Good news is, there is a call to establish an emergency hotline for suicides in my country with many informative articles on different mental illnesses to raise public awareness. The bureaucracy and focus of this country means it would take a while, but good news nonetheless.

Bad news is, I need something like that right now. Somehow, I bought a method and place it inside my bedroom.

Are hamster and guinea pig the same?

The Hopes-if-there-are Table
What have you missed most during all these lockdowns and panics? - Public events
What are you most looking forward to when the world returns to normal? - Getting a passport
Who is the first person you plan to see that you couldn't so far, when you get a chance? - A therapist/psychiatrist
What are the wildest or most daring plans you have made for when all this blows over and we can cut loose again?
- Moving elsewhere for a bit of peace (within my country) and traveling abroad for a decent therapist/psychiatrist. I'm thinking of Singapore, where there is a branch of the Samaritans.

What have you been doing to keep yourself sane whilst stuck at home and do you intend to continue it when you earn you freedom again?
- Casually logging in to this forum and posting random stuffs.

The Fud Table
Have you ever eaten a meal at you desk? Why and what was it?
- Rarely, I guess I only have a meal by my desk when my work is really close to deadline. It's not fun to see ants and flies gathering around my desk.

Do you like Liquorice, and if so... WHY?? - I don't remember.
What is your guilty pleasure food? - Cream cheese bread and chocolates.
What do you eat when youre trying to be good?
- I don't really understand what is "trying to be good". Based on others' answers, it seems to be about vegetables and fruits. I still don't know how to answer this.

What food can you simply not understand that ANYONE could like it?
- Beer. It tastes utterly bitter to me. The coldness does nothing when the heat shows up that makes my body redder, my mind foggier, and overall sleepier.

Somehow, manliness is measured by the ability of chugging bottles of such beverage while maintaining sanity.

The Just-Do-It Table
What question does no one ever ask you, and what's the answer?
- Is everything alright? I mean, are you okay? Do you need someone to listen? It's just you don't sound fine when you say "fine".
+ The thing is I've been wanting to kill myself for the about 2 and a half years. I talked but no one listened. I'm glad you asked.

What question do you wish people would stop asking you and what's the answer?
- What is that kind of attitude? Why do you have to be so weird? Why can't you be like others, like your friends, ... ?
+ I don't know. What will you do when you cannot get rid of your desire to suicide? I am me. I cannot simply be others.

What's the strangest question you have ever been asked and what's the answer?
- Who are you?
+ I don't know. I'll come back to you when I can figure out how to answer that.
(I have a bit of trouble answering such a simple question. I know. Why do you think I have a cat avatar and a fake name?)

The Flow
Say Hello - Hello
What do you want to tell us? - Who am I again?

Recruitment Table
If you plan to do a Cafe tomorrow, please feel free to say "I Volunteer" in huge writing to set an example and let anyone else know so you dont double-post (I did it once and it was awkward).
- I know. It's a bit strange to have 2 threads of the same day. I'm from a different timezone so it's hard to know if someone has made a Jim's Cafe thread. Maybe one day.

Thanks for the tag Dante.

The Hopes Table
1) What have you missed most during all these lockdowns and panics? Travel without paying 100€ for a PCR test that noone even asked me about at the destination. Twice. *rant

2) What are you most looking forward to when the world returns to normal? Travel without throwing away 100€ every time. And more than four people sitting at the table in bars and restaurants.

3) Who is the first person you plan to see that you couldn't so far, when you get a chance? I could see everyone I wanted to see if they wanted to be seen.

4) What are the wildest or most daring plans you have made for when all this blows over and we can cut loose again? Wild and daring when everything's allowed and normal...*dunno

5) What have you been doing to keep yourself sane whilst stuck at home and do you intend to continue it when you earn you freedom again? I only stucked myself at home when I had covid, for obvious reasons. Otherwise I dont give away my freedom that easily.

The Food Table
1) Have you ever eaten a meal at you desk? Every time when I was working in my studio. Why and what was it? Because I was hungry; whatever I cooked or ordered.

2) Do you like Liquorice, and if so... WHY?? Sure, they come in cute colors and shapes. Oh, you mean eating them...nah, I prefer food.

3) What is your guilty pleasure food? Good food is always my plesure and I don't feel guilty about it. Drink is another story...

4) What do you eat when youre trying to be good? What I don't eat matters more.

5) What food can you simply not understand that ANYONE could like it? I simply can't understand how anyone can't understand how someone could like certain food. (I hope that was English)
I only learned it's a thing on a site where people understand almost any kind of human behavior. *hysterical

The DIY Table
1) What question does no one ever ask you, and what's the answer? I think I've been asked pretty much everything, mostly with a very little interest in my answers.

2) What question do you wish people would stop asking you and what's the answer? Questions that they're not interested in answers.

3) What's the strangest question you have ever been asked and what's the answer? Can I ask you something? You just did.

Good, they can replace cockroaches.

Thank you for opening and tag @Dante . I slept my whole Sunday away yesterday so here I am to give the questions a shot.

Hopes Table

1) walking around without worries

2) looking forward to everyone being friendlier and being able to see people without masks in and not hear about covid.

3) no one really comes to mind. I'm just always wishing to see my daughter.

4) I'd like to go on a cruise

5) I started doing puzzles and watching more tv. I also gained 15 lbs ☹️. Ah well. Got a pet snake too, ha. On top of it all now that my children are 27, 25, 22 and soon to be 18 I realize I have empty nest syndrome.
