Once again I have hijacked your precious cafe!! So join me in Jim's Cafe, Dante Version!

"Fun" Facts time, and this one is all about animals, I didn't mean it to be, it just turned out that way.

1) Butterflies will happily gorge themselves on mud, urine, poop, decaying flesh, sweat, blood and even human tears if they get the chance. Anything vaguely liquid with sufficient nutrients are fair game to a butterfly.
1610585060260.png ah... so majestic.
2) Everyone knows about Jellyfish stings that hurt, but some do more than that, some jellyfish stings kill, some give you a Viagra-class erection, and some fill you with a powerful sense of impending doom.
3) When swallowing, frogs suck in their eyeballs to push the food down their throats.

4) Wombat Poop is cube shaped.

Now, It turns out that today is a whole host of useful days to ask questions about, it is "Dress up your pet day", "International Kite Flying Day", "Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day" and "Organise your home day", it is also "Celebration of Life Month" so without further ado, the questions:

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)
2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not??
3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?
5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)

Ok, now for the hardest part, trying not to miss anyone out when tagging people... so I will do my usual move.. HARVEST TAGS FROM PREVIOUS CAFES!! MUAHAHAHA!

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)

I do have a cat, never dressed her up.

2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not??

I don't want to look like I picked a fight with a weed eater and got my ass kicked.

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.

Old-timey I like. This past weekend I ran a trotline in one of the rivers in these parts and then chopped and split about a chord of wood for the fireplace and to share with some of the neighbors if they need some.

4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?

Very recently with the lockdown.

5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")

Trolling the news or Facebook can be fun, people take life too seriously.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)

Not anytime recently, and it is rare for me.

What is this "clean up" that you speak of?
5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive?
Sometimes I feel like I've actually helped someone who has endured terrible suffering, and that's something that seems profoundly meaningful to me. That's something that makes me feel glad to be alive.
6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment?
I remember I went camping once, and someone I was camping with had a kitten. It ran away from me at first. Later it came trotting up, purring, and I held it in my lap. I remember feeling like happiness of the kitten was flowing through me.

Ty for the tag Dante & lol about making the tags easy, glad to be able to help ;)

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)
Yes to both. Sorry don't have much time or energy to put a pic right now but I do have some. We dressed our kitty up in a jack o lantern dress for Halloween 2019, she looked very adorable in it :p

(Skipped #2 cos it didn't apply lol)

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
Did a bike ride a couple months ago and read the paper a week or so ago. Don't think I've ever flown a kite so maybe I outta try that someday lol.

4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?

Awhile ago I guess lol. We vacuum at least once every 1-2 weeks though and keep things pretty clean and organized most of the time I think.

5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")

Lots of things make me glad I'm alive, but especially my perfect lil kitty, animals in general, reading, writing, helping others, and how much I love and enjoy Star Wars. Also whenever I can look at a pic of Mark Hamill, listen to him talk and of course watching him in the Star Wars movies lol.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)
Whenever I watch Star Wars I feel quite content and lucky for sure :) Also laying with my sweet perfect lil kitty or when I eat chocolate or other yummy kinds of food. I try to make the most of the good things in life that I'm able to.

Thanks for the tag and for opening the cafe @Dante

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available) I don't currently have any pets of my own, but my one roommate has a bunch of reptiles and my other roommates have 3 cats. I don't think any of them have been dressed up.

2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not?? They probably wouldn't cooperate very well.

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better. I go on picnics sometimes just like next to a parking lot or whatever when a restaurant doesn't have dine-in and I don't feel like bringing the food all the way home because it won't keep well on the bus. At least I call it a "parking lot picnic" even though it's not as nice as a picnic in the park. When I lived in San Francisco I used to love feeding pigeons and seagulls, but I haven't done that since I moved to Pittsburgh in mid-2016.

4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home? We haven't really done that yet, as we only moved in to this house at the beginning of last month. Tbh I still have a ton of unpacking to do even, due to being lazy.

5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")This tends to be when I try new foods I guess.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question) I feel like that sometimes, but it's fleeting.

Thanks for opening, Dante. I'll answer a couple of questions.

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
I went for a walk earlier today. Hadn't in weeks. Um, I kinda missed reading a newspaper yesterday. I must buy it one day. It has been a while.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)

I felt contentment last night listening to a meditation! Too bad the feeling doesn't last forever lol.

If butterflies gorge on human tears, they'll never starve with me around. I'm not too worried about the jellyfish erection thing, and I'm usually filled with doom, so I'm covered.

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)
I want a few and I would dress them up.

2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not??
It can be costly and I can only have one pet here.

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
I still read real books, is that old time? lol

4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?
Can't recall at the moment, I usually clean when I have enough energy to do so.

5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")
Listening to music, watching movies, writing, talking to friends.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)
I'm sure I have, but I can't remember the last time that happened.

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)
I do not have any pets now. When I was married we had lots of pets, never dressed them up. My ex-wife considers that cruelty to animals.
2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not??
I don't have any pets now because I don't want to be tied to the house. We used to have 7 dogs and could never go anywhere or do anything because the dogs had to be fed and let out, etc.
3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
Last spring I went to Rum Village Park just up the road from me and was smoking a cigar and enjoying the beautiful scenery while sitting in my car. I had my windows rolled down, enjoying the fresh spring air, a beautiful day. A woman came up to my car and asked if I needed anything. I looked at her and said I am fine. She replied "I can get you little girls or anything you want?" I looked at her with a puzzled expression on my face. She said "Or little boys if you prefer?" I replied "What the hell!" She pulled out a radio and radioed into the police station "This guy is just enjoying a cigar, no problem here." I haven't been back since.
4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?
I am a bachelor. If I pull something off my shelves to look at it I dust it; I have Pledge and a rag. Otherwise nothing gets dusted. My liquor bottles don't stay around long enough to get dusty. One of my room mates is retired and does the cleaning in the common areas, the house is pretty clean. I wash my dishes and put them away when I use them, I can't leave stuff in the kitchen because of my room mates.
5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")
I am going to work this morning, working ten hours, it makes me feel glad to be alive, like I have some purpose in life, however useless it is.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)
I find old Coleman lanterns at garage sales, flea markets, and junk shops. Taking an old lantern that hasn't been lit for 40 years, cleaning it up, fixing it, and then lighting it for the first time and then just sitting there with a beer, the hum of the lantern, true contentment.

1) Do you have a pet, and if so, have you ever dressed them up? (Pics if available)
I think I have a cat but I don’t know her yet.

2) If the answer to 1 is no, why not??
When I do meet her I really don’t intend to torture the poor animal.

3) When was the last time you tried one of the old-fashioned past times? (Kite flying, Bicycle riding in the park, Picnic, going on a boat ride, reading the paper, feeding the pigeons etc) The more old-timey and eccentric the better.
I wrote a letter to a friend on a real paper and sent it by snail mail.

4) When was the last time you had a really good clean up of your home?
I’m doing it the last couple of days. Well, I’m trying to.

5) What do you do (if anything) that makes you feel glad you're alive? (This can be as life affirming or as petty as you like, even if its just "Annoy my shitty neighbour and hear him complain")
Getting high while waiting the end of the lockdown so that I can strart doing all those things.

6) Have you ever felt a moment of true contentment? (Dont feel bad if you havent, I can only barely answer yes to this question)
Oh yeah

Good morning @Dante. Thanks for opjening cafe and tagging me. Animals are one of my favorite topics. The butterflies and the tears, so bittersweet. I want to draw a picture of that.

I'll give questions a try, thanks

1) yes, I brought in one cat for pet day and put her in a dress for one of the kids. Poor thing! 😳😸

2) I dont know, but you've inspired me! Amazon here I come to fly a kite in March. Pics to follow.

3) my place isnt huge so i try to clean every other week, after 20 something years I have a system at least. I set a timer in 15 minute increments, people think I'm nuts but it works for me. I include breaks. *yes4

4)I saw a Christmas light drive thru show, that was cool. This weekend I have Monday off so I'm driving to the shore for something to do.

5) lately I've been feeling content but restless at the same time if that makes sense. Maybe boredom. I honestly think it's my new medicine and thanks to some members here for the support I'm trying to roll with it until it subsides.
