It's no secret that he was a member of the Nazi party. And he was also a business man who saw an opportunity for free labour. I'm pretty sure that was his initial motive. But he did in time care about his workers. He gave up his fortune in bribes to keep them safe and black market supplies for his workers. He spent the last 20 years of his life being supported by the very Jews whose lives he had saved and when he died in 1974 he was buried on Mount Zion, a huge honour and the only member of the Nazi party to ever be given this.
I guess it shows teh complexity of the human soul. Maybe teh story is as much about redemption as it is about good or evil.

Well , I actually knew that , I was just saying that Itka Gruntova claimed that Schindler was not just a member of Nazi party , but also was a "scum" , who "forced Jewish people work on him" , so I really doubt it now , because many people who were saved by him never did say anything bad about him . Indeed , Schindler was not saint , he was cheating on his wife , he was an alcoholic , he spied for Abwehr . I think he reached the point where he understood that he was wrong and decided to help people .

My friend and I were obsessed with The Meaning of Life when we were about 14 haha. That bit where the fat guy explodes was one of the main highlights. “It is only a thin wafer..” *BOOM* LOL.
Yes me too,,,I went to see it with my mother of all things and remember how horrified she was at all the bits I laughed at...one of my fondest memories of time we spent together...and still have that song in my head once in awhile when I think of her...

Hi everyone I hope you’ve all had or are enjoying a great day. Thanks for opening up @bobbob and thanks hugely for the tag @gypsylee . I am completely useless at posting films or music but can easily answer your third question, Bobbob. The nicest thing anyone has said or done for me, certainly this last year, is the welcome messages and hugs I received when I signed up to SF. Love to you all xx
