i don't really care much for sports. even nascar is boring. but i do love amature racing and grudge racing. and i feel sorry about your fridge, we had to get a new one this year and our old one was only around 20 years old.

mike...*hug*shake
Seems like the year for refrigerators. Mine died on my birthday in September after 20 well done years. That's how I spent that day, shopping for a new one, Lol.
Just curious....what is grudge racing?*dunno:)

Ty for tagging me @Blue Star it always feels very nice to be remembered in the cafe :)
No plans for the weekend and I prefer that for now. I'm not really into sports or I'd answer those sports q's. Can't type much right now or at least not very well cos I cut my finger earlier. Hoping it isn't so deep that I'll need stitches. Had to get those when I fell a decade ago, rather not have to get them ever again if I can help it.
Anyway, hope everyone has a nice day :) *hug*grouphug2
PS - Love the fall pix, I'm so glad it will be fall next month, very done with summer already. Here's some fall pix I found that I like :)

Especially love the last one, thank you:)
So....you shared enough info for nosy nurse to ask about your injury...is it still bleeding after I'm assuming you've applied a pressure bandage of some sort to it and some time has passed? I'd ask more but that's the important one. *hug

Hey Livelife thanks so much for replying to what I said, glad you liked the pic! :)
That's cool you're a nurse, I didn't know that! Thanks for letting me know and for caring about my injury. I think it will be ok though hopefully. I did apply some bandaids to it yup, gonna leave them on til tomorrow afternoon and then take them off to see how it's looking. It luckily didn't bleed much so I think that's a good sign. Was mostly just worried that it might have been a deep cut, but I don't think it was thank god. It was so dumb how it happened, I was just cutting a carrot which I've done tons of times. Oh well, I know it just happens sometimes.
Thanks again for caring and asking about that though, I appreciate it very much, you're so kind! Hope you are well and that you have a wonderful day. :) *hug

Except for the cut itself, that all sounds like a good outcome if a bandaid or two did the trick.. :D Those carrots can definitely be dangerous, Lol......;)*hug

Thanks, @Blue Star ! Nothing certainly sounds good for the weekend (meant in the optimistic way).

Speaking of hard work, a dung beetle works hard all day to roll up a big ball of dung. What does it get in the end? That's right, a big ball of dung.

This also reminds me of China's 996 system, as in working 9am to 9pm 6 days a week. Even in that society, the recent trend has been to do away with such a philosophy and instead adopt a way of life that can provide both meaning and progress. People are opting out of the system and just staying in bed.

Personally, I don't care if my ball of dung is a little smaller or even half the size... as long as I'm out of the rat race!

Fall pictures are great. It is still hot & steamy here, so it seems a long way off. But American 🏈 college football is starting so that means fall is going to happen quickly.
Our refrigerator is trying to die. I have spent most of the day trying to get it working. If it‘s not cold enough by morning, I will be getting a replacement. 😢
I fell down the stairs last week. As I showered this evening, I looked at my leg- I was surprised at how much dirt was on it. Wash, wash… not dirt - bruises! 🤦‍♀️ Injured my tailbone (coccyx), it burns like fire to sit. 🙄 it turns out I am a uncoordinated, cranky, old lady. 🤣

@Sunspots -it looks like a fun adventure! Very nice gift. 🎁
@may71 I think Ted is the dog on the foot stool.
@Blue Star thanks for getting this party started!

My question for everyone: sports
Which sports do you like?
Any sport you hate?
Did you participate in sports? Which ones?
Were you- School age/college/olympics/professional?
Favorite Teams?
any memories of sports to share?
I love fall sports. NFL, College Football, world cup qualifiers, champions league...so much good stuff.

Thanks for the cafe and the tag @Blue Star

Yesterday morning I worked 5:30 am to 9:10 am. It was a blast, I took my speaker to work. I work with a woman that I like a lot and we get along well together, one of the best 2 person teams I have ever worked with. I don't believe romance will blossom, she is really tough, likes the bad boys. She always shows that she cares about me though, buying me food, and she loves having someone to talk to and laugh with. I had put some of her favorites on my playlist and after a while she was requesting songs, one of them was "Short D*** Man" by Gillette, that will give you a glimpse into her character. She is a lot of fun to be around.

After work yesterday I put the first coat of finish on some drawers I am building for a side job. Working 50-56 hours per week then working on a side job evenings and weekends, it will be done about the 3rd week of September. About 2 in the afternoon I went to the Kitchenette and ate breakfast with a friend, relaxed the rest of the day.

This morning I am cooking one of mom's recipes, a hash brown casserole. I am adding some sausage and an onion. After that I am putting a coat of finish on the drawers, I have to sand between coats. Also stripping and seasoning a cast iron pan for a friend. I have one cigar left and the rest of the day will be for relaxing.

Which sports do you like?
Volleyball, badminton, tennis, some football

Any sport you hate?
Not really

Did you participate in sports? Which ones?
We were not allowed to participate in school sports, we played a lot of volleyball in the church youth group

Were you- School age/college/olympics/professional?
Nope

Favorite Teams?
I normally choose a winner for the Super Bowl (football) and bet a case of Dr Pepper on them. I put the notice on my FB page and first taker gets the bet. I have won some and lost some.

any memories of sports to share?
Back when the song "Nasty Boys" was popular in the mid 80's I fell off a pony while it was galloping around a corner and the Dr used black thread to sew my upper lip back together, 21 stitches. There was no way to cover it and I went so school, church youth functions, etc. Our youth group played volleyball and our normal gym was not available, we were in a elementary gym, the ceiling was only about 12 foot high. I was set up and spiked a ball so hard it bounced and hit the ceiling. The black upper lip plus the spike left an impression, this is where my nickname "Nasti" stems from.

I hope everyone has a great day today.

anyway thank you much @Blue Star for tagging me. seems this is a pretty nice café and i intend to be back later for breakfast. its cool here and cloudy but very low chance of rain. hoping everyone’s day is sunny in the physical sense, or in spirit or what ever makes for a nice day. 🌞🌞🌞💫❤️

@extraterrestrialone late buddies today haha! @Blue Star As always, thank you for the invite! Also for taking some time to opening the café. I had plans. I wanted to clean the house, clean my dad's bike which I use for transport, make my bike's head tube bigger so I can fit the new bearing cup.
All I did was take a nap and sleep. Oh I just cut my new chain so I can replace my rusted chain tomorrow morning. That's all I got to do. I really need to stop sleeping hahahha!
Which sports do you like?
Esports if that counts.
Any sport you hate?
Nothing in particular
Did you participate in sports? Which ones?
Open tournaments.
Were you- School age/college/olympics/professional?
Can't even imagine being one but my friend plays valorant for his university team.
Favorite Teams?
Still like SK Telecom T1 in LoL mainly because I saw them win all their championship titles live. Live like a broadcast not in person.
any memories of sports to share?
If only feelings can be shared. Idk maybe we all get that feeling when you're very into something or someone, like you feel what the players or teams feel. Intense.

Take care and have a great day everyone!

@MosesY
The Kitchette! I havent been there in years, but always have fond memories. I used to meet my dad there for lunch (decades ago) for their giant pork tenderloin sandwich special (Fries & drink). About $4 😋
I live in St. Joe County.
You’ve got some nice drawers there! 👖😉😂
FR, nice drawers- you‘ll have to post a pic of the completed project.

that sounds like a nice place! I recall a place in KC that had a pig snoot sandwich but being still unbrave I hesitated to order and then the place was gone... or was it I? either way, I missed out on something I would most likely have loved. SIGH!!!
but tasted or not I still can recall.

Also stripping and seasoning a cast iron pan for a friend.
hey - wondering if you can tell me how to clean off the exteriors of my iron frying pans that have an eighth inch coating of burned frying grease and debris from during an unfortunate period of a few years being used regularly for a fried food business. I think the coating is as hard as the iron itself! I want to see the Wagner logo again. 🥺😫

Thanks again for caring. Wish I could go back and just delete the details I gave about cutting a carrot that caused it to happen, I already feel like a moron about it and I guess I hoped maybe I'd feel better to give more details about it but I really don't. I do not like being laughed at and I did not think it was funny at all. Anyway I will definitely make sure to give a lot less details in any of my posts from now on. Have a nice day then.

You're welcome to say more about that if you'd like to
it's not really that bad. although i loved her a lot and was very close in my youth i don't consider her death to be a tragic event. she was very active going to dances on the weekend and walking every day until she hurt her hip last year. so being very active and healthy for 96 years and passing at 97 is a very good thing and i'm happy for her. she was a good woman and had a full life, what more can a person want.

Just curious....what is grudge racing?*dunno:)
grudge racing is amature racing between two people that are usually friends or family that want to compete. it is usually good natured but very serious racing. i want to challenge my son next year we missed it this year. also by next year i should be able to add more horsepower lol. also it's done at a track and usually safe, but accidents can happen at that speed

i'm sorry that you feel embarrassed about it. sometimes we need to laugh at ourself when these little accidents happen. we all have those moments that make us think how the hell did i do that. i have and everyone else has. if we don't laugh at those moments we only feel bad about the situation.
