Hello dear SF family!

Hope you are well as can be this Friday.

Did you know that the Jim the Cafe is named for was a real person? He was a wonderful person, and the Cafes he started were a bit different from what it has evolved to now (which isn't a bad thing, just different). He would post his plans for the day and a song or two and invite others to do the same.

Today I have a dentist appointment. Just perio maintenance, but it makes me anxious.

But on to the questions!

If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be and why?

What skill do you think everyone should have?

oh, I should answer my own questions lol

A new skill would be a 2nd language, French or Spanish, Spanish would probably be more useful where I live.

I think everyone should be able to write basic communication, such as thank you notes. btw whatever happened to the tradition of sending greeting cards? I'll tell you, the nice cards at the drugstore are $6-7 each, thats what happened! (thats another Cafe though lol)

Tysm for tagging me here Angie, and for opening a cafe for today (and for all the others you've been opening, it's been really fun and awesome having so many cafes to reply to) :) My answers:

New skill = Hard to pick just "one" but I will say driving, because so many of the PT jobs I've been seeing say they want people to have a valid driver's license. Closes off a lot of opportunities for me not having that as a skill. (Lots of them actually want a person to have their own car too lol, oh well) :p

Skill I think everyone should have - Similar to what you said, writing basic communication, and also just a decent level of effective communication skills in general. I realize it is harder for some people than others, and that it is one of the hardest things in the world to do "well" but there's lotsa excellent books and advice out there for those who struggle with doing it. We are so lucky to live in a time that has lots of info available much more easily than ever before in the history of the world. But I know the "down side" to that is also that all that info can get overwhelming at times as well.

Ok, I'll do some tags today ;) @Witty_Sarcasm @1964dodge @MisterBGone @Kiwi2016 @AmberMarie @cev77 @1Lefty @snails

I still send birthday cards mostly and thank you notes and sympathy cards necessary. I find 2 and 3 dollar ones at Target and Dollarstores and drugstores …even find 99 cent ones sometimes. And I’m picky with them..πŸͺ·

hello cafΓ© :)
Elegant words and questions @Angie . And I love it when you say:
but remember EVERYONE is invited, tagged or no

I'd like it if I had the skill of speaking several different languages.

A skill I wish everyone had; same as what @full said: basic reading/comprehension, writing and math.

Have a good day all, or evening as the case may be depending on where in the world you live. Hugs to everyone who wants or needs them.
