Good day all! It's been a while since anyone opened up a new cafe and since it is the most exciting weekend because of Halloween - I couldn't let it go so I got the keys!

1200px-Candy-Corn.jpg

I already ate some candy I am supposed to hand out. I will have approximately 300 kids come to the door! And they keep coming after I run out and shut off the light!I have mostly chocolate but enough lollipops and taffy to give out.

Since Halloween questions have been posed the only question is what are YOU doing this weekend. I am laying low and babysitting my grandson so his parents can go to a party.

Maybe someone can propose a Halloween themed question.

Wow that's a lot of kids, Cymbele. The sad thing is there have been less and less trick or treaters in my neighborhood the past few years. Two years ago we only had one group of kids. Last year no kids. I am hoping we get some kids this year. I am not gonna do much except hand out candy.

Why so many kids?
I live near an elementary school and several apartment complexes so the apartment kids come to my neighborhood. I understand but as I said it gets expensive (and i eat some of the candy while storing it up). I do not get a chance to really enjoy the costumes since trick or treating is 2 hours and with that many kids they line up at the doors.

I will be preparing the house for a special guest on Thursday.

Also, for Halloween Questions (@cymbele asked):

1) Do you go out trick or treating? (If you are a parent, you may go with your kids for example)
2) How many trick or treaters do you usually get?
3) Do you have any Halloween traditions? A party? Certain music you always listen to? A Halloween film? A specific halloween film? Hide inside from the madness?
4) Best Halloween Story.

Also, for tagging I dont have access to my usual list so a couple of the old crowd (PLEASE tag people): @Harrow @Walker @Lux @Waves @KM76710 @johnDoen @JMG @Somebody Else

*brohug@cymbele thanks for the tag and for opening the cafe!
I love Halloween! it sounds like an amazing and fun holiday!
unfortunately in my country, we do not celebrate Halloween but despite that, every year my mom buys a pumpkin and curves out figures, and puts candles inside!*shh
I hope everyone will have amazing, fun, and full of GOOD surprising events!*stars*grouphug2! *bounce

I stopped when I was 15. This old lady stared at me for a few minutes before handing candy to me, so I figured I was getting too old.

2) How many trick or treaters do you usually get?
None because I live in an apartment complex and there's no soliciting. Not that I would mind handing it out, we just don't get traffic here.

3) Do you have any Halloween traditions? A party? Certain music you always listen to? A Halloween film? A specific halloween film? Hide inside from the madness?
None but I try to enjoy it anyway. I'll be a vampire unicorn this year.

4) Best Halloween Story.
When me and my co-worker came up with a Halloween potluck. People dressed up and got prizes.

This doesnt need to be the end of it, I used to live in a flat on the 1st floor and we did something you could probably use:
We filled a bucket with sweets, hung out of our balcony with lights and costumes and lowered sweets down to the kids on a rope. Add a banner just to let them know and you could do the same.

^ Great idea Dante! :) I live in an apt building too & have for most of my life (only a total of 7 years of my life have I not lived in an apt) and I've always wished they would make an exception for Halloween. Would be dangerous if kids were to go into buildings without adults though cos a lot less chance of witnesses if something bad happened. I stopped trick or treating when I was 15 too and I was utterly devastated. My mom said I was too old and I cried all night about it lol. She was right though so I'm glad she said it. People do start to give you "looks" once you're a teen it seems. Guess it kinda is more for kids (like fairly "little" kids) anyway.

Anyway thanks for the tag @Dante and those are cool & fun q's, I'll answer them now. I'm glad a Halloween cafe has been posted cos it's the best, most fun holiday imo. I like it a lot more than Christmas cos it's a less stressful time of year imo. Ok here's my answers to 3/4 of the q's (not number 4, sorry but I'm just not much of a storyteller lol).

Hope everyone has a HAPPY HALLOWEEN too! :)

1) Do you go out trick or treating? (If you are a parent, you may go with your kids for example)
No, I don't go either as a trick or treater myself (too old lol) nor with kids since I don't have any.

2) How many trick or treaters do you usually get?
We don't since we live in an apt building.

3) Do you have any Halloween traditions? A party? Certain music you always listen to? A Halloween film? A specific halloween film? Hide inside from the madness?
I always put some kind of decorations in my room, and we usually decorate our living room too. I have a Halloween nightgown that I wear both on Halloween and a couple days before. We also watch a halloween movie yup. Sometimes at least 1 of the Harry Potter movies, usually the first one. I'm not into partying but I do have about 5-6 costumes in my closet. I don't wear them though but I like knowing I have them if I ever needed a costume for something.
