Hey everyone, saw there hasn't been a cafe posted for several days so just thought I'd post one today

Looked up some things that are celebrated on this day according to the "Days of the Year" site, here's some of them:

- Chili dog day
- International Tiger day
- Rain day (why this is in July I have no idea lol)
- Lipstick day (had no idea there was a day that celebrated this tbh lol)

If any or all of these appeal to you then feel free to post pix of them or just talk about them (like/dislike and why?) and here's some other questions for those who enjoy answering q's, hope everyone is well and that you have a wonderful day!

My answers

1. If you could be a bird, where would you want to fly to first and why?
California or Florida cos there's things I am really curious to see in both of those places.

2. Do you like reading?
Yes, love it!

3. If you do like reading, what are some of your fave genres?
Fiction: Suspense, mystery, some fantasy as long as it's not too dumb, general
Non-fiction: Autobiographies, self-help, psychology, nature, animals.

4. What is something you are really interested in right now?
Drag queens (esp. the one in my avatar, just very fascinating to me)

5. How are you feeling right now?
Worried as usual but ok overall I guess, could be worse.

(This is definitely me, love the rain. Hope we get some here soon, don't think we've had any in the last month)

Thank you for opening Cafe and the tag @JMG. My mind is preoccupied with life things but this is a welcome distraction.

1) I'd fly to different National parks in my country to start and join flocks of other birds.

2) Yes, very much.

3) Thrillers. Historical fiction

4) exercise, my new boyfriend, art as always.

5) I feel slightly stressed out, not liking myself a whole lot

1. If you could be a bird, where would you want to fly to first and why? I'd fly to the top of Mt. Rushmore. I've wanted to go there since I first saw North by Northwest.

4. What is something you are really interested in right now? I've become more interested in cooking lately. I just cooked some chili.

Humming bird, would love to fly to hawii and feel the breeze on my wings

i prefer things along the line of healing and things that are not fiction
4. What is something you are really interested in right now? I've become more interested in cooking lately. I just cooked some chili.
currently into talking with a friend about older antique cars and watching shows on tv about medicine

I smiled when I saw it's Tiger Day. I'd post the pics of me hugging them in Thailand but it's got me in them so I can't. That was a great day, playing with the tigers and lions.
1. I would just fly around and coast on thermals. Probably head to the Rockies.
2. I've always loved reading.
3. All kinds of genres including nonfiction, really good fiction, biographies, medical. No SciFi (Heinlein excluded) or Horror.
4. I'm learning about and planting cacti. I'm still searching for a strong topic that captures my interest to delve into.
5. I'm bored and trying to avoid depressed thoughts.

- Chili dog day never really wanted a chili dog but its nice to know there’s a day for it.

1. If you could be a bird, where would you want to fly to first and why? to a tree in my favorite park and chirp around and hop onto someone’s shoulder and sing sing sing like a very corny movie. because its just the thing to do!!!!
2. Do you like reading? i wish i liked reading.
3. If you do like reading, what are some of your fave genres? i love poetry and poetic prose and prose poetry. i just read a poem i wrote at a poetry festival. i get poems emailed to me from a few poetry organizations every day.
4. What is something you are really interested in right now? change.
5. How are you feeling right now? super overwhelmed.

hoping everyone’s day is full of chili, hot dogs, birds poetry, change (of the good kind), wonderful tigers, cleansing rain (also the good kind) and of course lipstick however that may manifest itself! and not to mention… this stuff… 🌞🌞🌞

Thanks for the invite @JMG . Being a workaholic lately although i would like to take a break but will start working after this message. The down side of working remote is that you can't leave your work behind - it's always staring at you wanting you to do the right thing and work away. I just came back from Tai chi and want to play.

1. If you could be a bird, where would you want to fly to first and why?
I never thought about being a bird; I just don't know what I'd do. I guess I would do what birds do...
2. Do you like reading?
Yes
3. If you do like reading, what are some of your fave genres?
I tend to read mystery and suspense with an odd book every now and then.
4. What is something you are really interested in right now?
Been doing crafts now that I am on a diet so I tend to distract myself from food. That's the good thing about working extra - I don't eat!
5. How are you feeling right now?
Somewhat resentful about working but I don't see any choice. Been ignoring the prospect of surgery so I haven't been anxious but at some point I have to deal with it.

1) I think I would fly to Belgium... I hear Brussels is nice. Lovely people.

2) Yes, though I dont find much time to read anything of significant substance recently.

3) Sci fi or fantasy. Pure escapism.

4) I really want to read the Dune books, I intend to get them on audiobook to listen whilst I drive, but I just cant find the time to go through signing up for Audible.

I'd fly to Singapore to see my brother

2. Do you like reading?
I always loved reading. But as my depression got worse I found I couldn't concentrate enough anymore. I haven't read a book for over four years. Maybe it's time I gave it another go.

3. If you do like reading, what are some of your fave genres?
I didn't really have a favourite, I'd read anything.

4. What is something you are really interested in right now?
Plants, both indoors and out. Also a stupid little game on my phone that I can't put down.

5. How are you feeling right now?
On edge, not great.

Thank you for the invite! I don’t wear lipstick bc I have full lips and when I do wear it I feel like that’s all people see. Flapping colored lips that make the rest of my face seem like it’s in hiding. Lol. I do wear lightly tinted chapstick though bc my natural lips are extremely light due to my anemia.
1. If I could be a bird where would I fly to and why? Honestly I would fly anywhere. Just the act of flying would be enough for me.
2 &3. Do I like reading and what genre? I do enjoy reading. I enjoy fantasy, and mystery.
4. Sewing..I’m taking baby steps so I don’t get overwhelmed. So far I’ve done 3 steps. I’m 3 steps closer to sewing!
5. I’m feeling bloated, and fatigued from the heat.

Love to. Watching a movie or TV you open your eyes but reading you open your mind.
