Just scared about going back to work. It's been four years since I left my job due to depression and twenty five years since I worked full time. They asked how many days I could work and I panicked and said five but I'm now worried it's too much and should have started with three or four days.
It will be the hardest in the beginning... but, if you can manage that--then it will eventually, slowly but surely: begin to get "a little easier each & every day!" Until it gets to the point where, you'll say "Hey? Or Heck..! I can't believe I had such a tough or rough struggle go with it (because look at how smooth everything is flowing now?)" . . . Key, is accepting that this transformation, or process takes time - and can seem, at first, some times, as though it may be impossible ('How could I ever possibly? This is just too hard, & etc.~')_ Usually what happens for me: after an extended or long "lay-off," is; one day, some small moment, or thing happens / occurs (& this can be incredibly insignificant..) but then it is suddenly like, "EUREKA!" And everything sort of changes right from then and there & you're 'back!!' I guess it's your confidence that returns, but it can only come at it's own pace~ ? : ) Good luck & is there any way you could call them back, and ask them to reconsider your proposal for availability? So as to allow for a little bit more freedom, and flexibility during this transition? That's what I might do! But I am not you..;)

Here's a question for everybody. Has anyone had bad luck?
For me, it's like the old expression, or phrase. . . "If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!" / or is it? 'IF I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all?' (Usually, or generally spoken - in my head/& or, mind anyway~ with a French-Canandian Accent! so~ with a, or an, "At-T'all!" / 'At-tALL?' :D almost sounds like: (`Et_All.;)*~.) :)

I had no idea it was St Patty's Day...

On he subject of luck, I thought I was gonna have a difficult day today, but instead I ended up doing nothing for 3 solid hours just trolling reddit, and then someone else did half my remaining job for me. So that was lucky...

Did they offer you an option for number of days or number of hours? How did they approach you about it other than that one open ended question as far as availability need....
She asked me if I wanted ad-hoc days or more regular ones and I said I'd have a preference for more regular. Then she asked how many and which days I'd be available to work. I didn't want to sound lazy so I panicked and said five days. I'll talk to my friend who put my name forward for the job tomorrow and see what she says. She knows the manager well so might be able to give me an idea of if I'll annoy them too much by asking for less days. I don't want to look flakey before I've even started.

Sounds like the way she asked that there might be some flexibility. Glad you will have your friend's input :) I wish you the best!

Tysm for the tag @Kiwi2016 :) I tag: @Autumn1973 @1964dodge (thinking he might not have gotten the tag notification cos after 8 tags in a post it supposedly doesn't send them to the rest of the people tagged after that) @sinking_ship @Road to Nowhere @Walker @KindaOtiose @adamjam

I had a few lucky things today. Seeing my sis for the first time since Xmas, going out for lunch (rare that I get to eat anywhere away from home) and doing some shopping. Was a good day, nice sunny weather too :)
Hope it was a HAPPY ST.PATRICK'S DAY for everyone else :) ;) *hug

(This kitty looks like he had a very happy St.Pats day lol) :p

Routine works well for my depression and now that children are older I wouldn't know what do without working, well I could figure something out, but you know what I mean I think. You could always go to 3 or 4 if it's too much.

I know you are going to make friends and be a great asset there Lu

Thanks @Kiwi2016 for the tag!

Feeling lucky because a small glitch in vaccine supply allows me to get my first vaccine tomorrow, much sooner than expected. Wishing good luck to my friend who is having a medical test done today β€” hoping they give her the all clear! :)
Such good news to hear....still waiting myself...and sending positive thoughts for your friend...

Thanks for the tag @Kiwi2016

I had a stroke of good luck and I've been offered a job without even looking for one. It's on a six month contract to start with, working for the NHS in a Covid vaccine clinic. I start on Monday and am absolutely terrified!

First CONGRATULATIONS!!!! And know that you'll do great. You sound so much like me, as I would have done the same and have done. I agree maybe talking with your friend about less hours...maybe 5 days a week but not 8 hours (?) a day would be a compromise... sending you good positive thoughts and *hugs.

Great cafe, I didnt realize it was st Patrick day and thanks for the tag @JMG . I dont believe in luck, I think we make our own, I have been getting calls from a place that wants to hire me, so that's always nice, I'd have opportunities to get a manager position both excited and depressed about this.
