hey all.
Today I went to Primanti Bros. which is a well-known sandwich place that started in Pittsburgh and now has a few locations elsewhere too. For those who haven't heard of it, they serve huge sandwiches with coleslaw and French fries on top. I got the kolbassi and cheese. Here's someone else's picture of a Primanti's sandwich:

So that was huge, and now I'm full.
Also today Spurs beat Arsenal. I've been a fan for such a short time that I'd never seen that happen... it was only my second North London derby. Except I kept falling asleep because the game started at 7:30 in my time zone, and I'm not used to getting up that early. Pathetic, I know.

Hey all, lovely and fun pics as always. :) Didn't get up early enough for breakfast or lunch, so I'm heading straight towards dinner:

Bowtie pasta with chunky garden sauce and Italian sausage. Garlic breadstick on the side. And yes, there are pats of butter melting on top. Sometimes I like to add butter and cheese to melt on it. Also, I know nothing of portion control. :P

I decided to say screw it on the whole not drinking thing. It was never a huge problem for me to begin with, and I felt like I was missing out on some good times with my friends. My roommate gave me a beer tonight, and next party I go to I'll try to have a little more fun. I don't know if this is a bad decision, but this Yuengling is tasting better than it used to.

Maybe just put a strict limit on the amount baywasp? I don't know you well.. and you said it wasn't a huge problem.. but there was obviously a reason why you stopped in the first place. Maybe you're changing the parameters of your definition for 'problem' a little because you want to be more inclusive? Anyway.. maybe you wouldn't have posted this here if you didn't think that on some level it was a problem.. so.. be careful please.. watch yourself tonight and be honest with yourself tomorrow.

Thanks. The issue was mostly that I sometimes get really depressed afterwards. That's why I stopped. But I was tired of it. I'm always careful not to totally overdo it. I've been drunk on occasion, but only when I was in a safe situation. Tonight I will only be having one (12 oz) bottle of beer, so I should be all right.

baywasp, just mentioning from my own experience and hopefully it may help, i have a bottle of beer or something similar or a glass of wine with a meal or before and i get sleepy. having gotten older i actually plop down on my bed and wake a few hours later. on occasion and when what i believe is my own perception of peer pressure i’ve drunk ridiculous amonts and gotten myself extremely sick. one time i could have died. one time someone might have killed me. i allowed myself to drink without restraint and hardly realizing what i was doing. i have not done that in years but i do still consider that i have the potential. i always have to be on guard. in that respect it is good that i have no friends. i’m less likely to be in that sort of a situation. i also have to consider that my father was an undiagnosed alcoholic who drove under the influence and kept his drinks cold in the freezer so they’d be ready whenever. but mostly i’m a one drink and fall asleep kind of person. my point is you know what you do. you know what you might do. you have to watch out all the time. for me, i never considered not drinking because i drink aesthetically. like i love porter and stout and particular lighter beers. i love certain kinds of wine. so i’d be sad if i stopped. since i usually fall asleep quickly, i think i’m ok. i am aware enough now to not allow myslef to get into the situation i got into where someone now hates me enough to kill me, or kill me with her eyes. iykwim. so if you can guide yourself similarly, maybe you can be safe. just expressing my own experience. i hope it is in some way enlightening.

ooooo oooooo. forgot all about it. i could have gotten killed a third time also and that was when i was 16 and combined it with an illegal substance and definitely peer pressure.

Wow. That's scary. The worst thing that happened to me when drinking is I pissed myself once...
