Whoever likes to start the thread may do so Ur Precious and thank you for starting today's, though people here will be just getting out of work to get on the computer for today when you are posting tomorrow. We are global and can adjust to by looking at the thread title and posting on the date it is for us wherever we are I am sure :). I must admit a bit of envy at the "sun shines here first everyday" statement :croc:

Hope you find the time for your walk Acy - it is so nice when Saturday gets here and there are not a bunch of chores to catch up on so can have a leisurely day!

TE - Enjoy your visit with family today - and hope you do get a chance to give the grandchildren a hug too

I have managed to keep today open and with the exception of possibly mowing the lawn I have no real plans except to relax and enjoy what looks to be beautiful weather.

Hope everybody else can find some happiness or at least relaxation in their Saturday as well :)

Quiet and boring day. Thinking of taking kayak out but I hate to go alone. I have run my errands and maybe will mow the lawn so I don't have to next weekend.

Daughter is sick so I can smother her with love. She is 25 yo so she will probably tell me to leave her alone and go kayaking.

The lawn is mowed....but there is so much more to do. My lawn will never be a showcase....unless I get rich and hire someone to take care of it.

Gotta go to the bank and get groceries. Wash clothes, vacuum, all those week end chores. Such is life.

Jimk's Cafe: Sunday 8 June

Good morning everyone! It's still dark outside at present, sun not making its appearance for another hour or so. Expect ya'll in America are cooking dinner or relaxing before going to bed! Ben, sorry there's nothing I can do about what you're envious about, lol - totally outside of my power :humble:LOL :) Yesterday pm had a lovely meeting with the ladies, feeling very inspired and encouraged. Actually beat hubby at Scrabble, it doesn't happen very often. He had a surfeit of 'E's. And didn't do his usual of going out with 7 letters (sometimes 3x in one game) - I managed to go out with a word I hadn't known before last night - DIATOMS - a diatom being any collection of algae. It's amazing how many words there are that I haven't met in nearly 59 years of living :bowl:

Today is church, then relaxing.
[Today being Pentecost Sunday :flame::flame::flame:That's the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit as happened in Acts 2 (tongues of fire)] In the light of which, maybe I shouldn't be relaxing, lol!

Wife and I took a day trip to see this local ancient Native American archaeological site which was interesting; then, we visited my old college campus and just walked around. Fun day trip.

Good morning, Café!

Went to bed around 11 p.m. and at 11:45 heard the neighbors having a "discussion". So, I turned on my music, cranked it as loud as I could stand (my ears hurt), and let it play for five minutes. Turned it down to barely audible (my preference for "background music"), and the neighbors were no longer having a fight. :) I love how music brings people together on the same wavelength! :D

Today I'm out in the morning, attending a picnic at noon, and not sure what the rest of the day holds. Maybe a walk in the early evening. Need anti-mosquito juice for that now. They are out in veritable herds.

urPrecious - oooh, DIATOMS! Congratulations! I love Scrabble. No, wait. I love Scrabble among friends. I played at an official "Scrabble Club" to see what that was like. Some of the players were "International Competition Winners." Professional Scrabble players (and all the regular members wanted to become "professional") memorize the official Scrabble dictionary and know all the 1, 2, 3 and 4 letter words that are "allowed." Those include words that the rest of the world has never heard of. And if you a challenge a word and it's in the Official Scrabble Dictionary, they get more points, and I think you lose a turn. They use Chess timers to limit the amount of time for putting a word down before the turn is forfeited and the other player gets mega points for the forfeit. The meetings were held in a public hall. There was a board outside of the auditorium that had those little letters you can move on the peg board for announcements. Someone had messed around with the words on the board and left a silly message. I asked the Scrabble Club president if he'd gotten bored between games and done it. He didn't laugh. Oooops! I didn't go back after that. lol

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :arms:

Good morning all!

Tried to go kayaking yesterday but the boat launch was full and I found I didn't have all my gear. Maybe I'll try later on today . At 5pm EST I will be serving dinner at the local mission. Other than that it will be a quiet day.
Have a great Sunday Everyone!

Heyroo!

Voices are still gone. Today is day 5... and I am scared that they are never coming back. I worry that I did something wrong, to make them go away. I feel that they are testing me, seeing if I can function without them. They are manipulative. I don't even know if they are watching. I don't know what to do.

I am going to go stir crazy.

Tommy Tom says heyroo!

 to everyone!

Re: Jimk's Cafe: Sunday 8 June

@Acy: That's funny - what happens at meetings of professional Scrabble players - thanks for the warning! Going OTT with it, as with anything, means it gets too serious and the fun's not there ..... I'd far rather be free to throw the dictionary at hubby or just walk away after he goes out 1st time and all I've got on my rack are vowels!!

@Lightbeam: Your voices are gone, and this scares you? I'm curious, because I've been fighting 'voices' (or thoughts mainly) for such a long time, always hoping that they will give up and just go away - if I knew they had gone for good, I would be so happy....

Jimk's Cafe: Monday 9 June

Good morning everyone! :) I'd like to thank the geeks @ SF for holding back the Café thread until a more reasonable hour to put it on the menu :) Rain is forecast here every day this week until Friday, so no tennis this week - will try to get my walk in though.
Off to Pilates class at a different place, nearer to home, from where we'd been going for 3 years, so looking forward to that.
Wishing everyone a good week
