Hello SF family! I hope today finds you as well as can be.

Today is a "get to know you" question that I hope will help us focus on the good things in life.

What day in your life would you like to relive?

It could be a special event, or just a really good day!

There are two special days that come to mind.

One was winning 1st Place at a college writing contest. I was so happy I thought I would burst!

The other was my first Christmas in my little house (which ended up not being a good place to live, but I didn't know that yet). I bought a live Christmas tree and put my grandmother's ornaments on it (after dragging the 6 foot tree in the house, which was a chore). When it was set up, I turned on the lights and just lay on the couch looking at it and thinking "life is good".

Good morning & thanks for opening the cafe today Angie.

I have mixed answers for this. I'd like to relive a typical day from the past when my children were little and I'd pack lunches and we'd go on a field trip to the park or maybe a touch museum.

Another special day was the home birth I had with my son. We had midwives back in 1995. My ex-husband kept asking if I wanted to play cards through the labor 😂. No, I don't. Thank you very much.

I'd also like to relive the day I went to college. My friend and her brother drove me. My mother didn't drive. I was so happy to be moving away from home (in later years id crave going back home). I was so excited to be going away to the small college that I had been given a scholarship to go to with it's beautiful campus.

What? No cards! . . . I thought you women were supposed to be good at, "Multi~tasking!" ;-D j/k~!_).
And that's pretty impressive to win a writing contest at any age, @Angie - especially, college!
(I should have an answer here...) / the day I joined SF. :D no, just joking=>

When I think about it, I realise that many of my special days revolve around being in nature or taking risks, mainly when young and "reckless" (the kind I wouldn't dream of taking now *scared). Back in the day, I remember travelling to far-flung countries with little money and no debit or credit card, mobile phone or internet access. In those days, the latter didn't exist, and riding a motorbike across treacherous terrain or a rickety bridge in the middle of nowhere, without the necessary insurance *faints. Those memories will be with me forever, though.

Nowadays, I spend a week researching before I get on a nice orderly train (in the quiet carriage) to another part of the UK, with my mobile phone and credit card, snack, and emergency fiver! And that's if I don't change my mind coz it's all a bit overwhelming *hiding *wacko

Thanks for the tag @Lane
I think I'd like to relive the day on my trip to France at age 16(?) when I went over to Geneva with my one host family. We took a tour of the UN and went out on the lake with a boat. It wasn't anything extremely special, but being out there on the water is the happiest I ever remember being.

Probably just a simple day in my childhood, going to school seeing my best friend, coming home to watch tv eat supper... not worrying about paying bills, what i'm going to eat tomorrow etc. It wasn't an ideal family, but unfortunately you don't know how good you had it until it's gone. We were fed well, dad had his own cows to milk, and pigs and cows to butcher, so we never went very hungry.

Also I'd like a day when my brother and sister and myself had our very young kids, and we at least pretended to get along, mom would make a pile of food on the table for thanksgiving or when my sister drove a thousand kms down to visist, and everyone chatted about whatever was going on, much less stress then. And thanks for the tag too

I hope it's ok to post again. I remember getting a bit annoyed at my mom on Sundays, she'd ask me to get her earrings and necklaces from upstairs before church, I made multiple trips up and down the stairs. Now, looking back, I see it differently than being cinderalla asked to do this or that. She actually thought I knew what looked good. She'd say what about these earrings with this necklace, I'd say no I think they don't go together. Finally when we were both satisfied it was time to get her rollers out of her hair. She'd fill up the car with hairspray and make her hands look white with paquin hand cream, wipe spots of my face with her spit and her kleenex. I'm actually wanting to cry. I'd give anything to go back and do this, appreciate my mom and her struggles at trying to look ''good enough for church''.. She'd need help with doing up her necklace, and now I see why, I'm losing my eyesight, she'd want me to thread a needle, I get it now. I'd like one day with my mom to tell her thank you for everything, and talk a bit, and one day with my dad to say thank you for working so hard and keeping the peace in the family, I appreciate everything you sacrificed to keep us from being too hungry or too cold. They didn't get along, even at the end, but they prayed and disciplined us, and I believe they did the right things in almost all times.

Great questions @Angie. Thank you for the tag @Lane

i don't have what other's would consider a good answer to this question. It's not my wedding (i was crying because i knew i shouldn't be getting married), or the birth of my 3 children or even learning of my pregnancies (because of the way my husband behaved and reacted).
i would have to say i have 3 though. All 3 are close to the same. i have lived in Colorado my entire life. Yet... i have never Seen a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater. However, i have had the amazing opportunity to sing on the stage in front of a crowd 3 different times 3 years in a row. It was an amazing experience that i will never forget!

Thank you for tagging me! :)

I think one day I want to relive is this one day in 2016, my first time going abroad by myself! I was still in university, and I was doing so well in it. I had lovely friends, and my family was okay. I didn’t feel any sadness back then. Just full of positive thoughts and was really looking forward to the future. I also made some new friends there. Sometimes I realized that I wasn’t looking my best at the time, but I think I would do anything to get that same happiness back.

Since I was traveling alone, I got to do whatever I wanted. I roamed the city by myself, though got lost a few times, but it was fun. Still, no sadness. I remember thinking back then, I would love to live by myself abroad one day. That would be really fun. Well, I did get to do it at some point, but my depression ruined it and I had to go back home….

I truly enjoyed reading this; it is heartfelt and beautifully conveyed. You have expressed such depth and intricate detail. What wonderful, rich, and multi-layered thoughts and memories you have shared about your family life. Thank you.

Honestly, i don't think i would relive any, given the choice. As much as some part of me would want to relive a day with my mum or something, the point is to go back and enjoy a moment that's better than our everyday now. But even a bad day now still trumps the best days of my past. I've never wanted to be anywhere more than i want to be here, right now. :)
