I hope it's ok to post again. I remember getting a bit annoyed at my mom on Sundays, she'd ask me to get her earrings and necklaces from upstairs before church, I made multiple trips up and down the stairs. Now, looking back, I see it differently than being cinderalla asked to do this or that. She actually thought I knew what looked good. She'd say what about these earrings with this necklace, I'd say no I think they don't go together. Finally when we were both satisfied it was time to get her rollers out of her hair. She'd fill up the car with hairspray and make her hands look white with paquin hand cream, wipe spots of my face with her spit and her kleenex. I'm actually wanting to cry. I'd give anything to go back and do this, appreciate my mom and her struggles at trying to look ''good enough for church''.. She'd need help with doing up her necklace, and now I see why, I'm losing my eyesight, she'd want me to thread a needle, I get it now. I'd like one day with my mom to tell her thank you for everything, and talk a bit, and one day with my dad to say thank you for working so hard and keeping the peace in the family, I appreciate everything you sacrificed to keep us from being too hungry or too cold. They didn't get along, even at the end, but they prayed and disciplined us, and I believe they did the right things in almost all times.
I wanted your lovely story to keep going, and going. I would love to read a book(s) written by you about this saga. I agree with @Brit, and @Angie. You're talented.

Hello cafe.
There's a day which came to mind, in among many favorites spent hiking or walking with my brother (r.i.p.) in Yosemite. But this day was if possible even happier: It was long time ago in one of my other lifetimes. I was with my fiance, and on a road trip in autumn around Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire. We stayed at a little place that gave us coffee and breakfast, and spent the day hiking and exploring Acadia National Park on the coast of Maine. Sunny, cold wind, beautiful ocean and mountains and lakes.

I got so unvolved in my post I forgot to thank @Angie for opening the cafe. It's a great idea and it'd be great to keep it going.

Thank you @Lane for tagging seabird. She is needing a honed focus at the moment as things will challenging the next few days. Thinking about better times is a wonderful way to pull my energy back to myself.

Thank you for posting a cafe today Angie (great question, not sure if I have much of an answer to it though lol) and for tagging me @Lane :)

I can’t really think of (or remember) a specific day that was a really happy and great day that I’d want to “repeat”. I’m pretty much always feeling some degree of worry, stress and anxiety. A day with my sweet kitty who passed into kitty heaven almost 5 years ago would be nice though, we had such a special bond for sure :) I love my current sweet kitty too of course and feel so lucky and grateful to have her, I have a special bond with her too but she can be a bit intense and has a temper at times :p

Ok actually I did think of an EXTREMELY happy day from my past that I’d love to repeat - don’t remember the specific “day” but I do remember the month and year - February 1999, I was finally free of having to live with my pure evil stepwitch from hell, it was definitely one of the biggest relief’s I ever felt in my entire life, and the happiness and freedom I felt knowing I didn’t have to live in so much fear, worry and anxiety any longer could never fully be expressed in words :)

3 more quick things here lol ;)

1. Nice pic you posted there @Innocent Forever love it :)

2. Thought of a tag for someone who wasn’t tagged already - @Witty_Sarcasm

3. This is for anyone in North America, I know phone and computer times always set automatically these days, but for any wall clocks, alarm clocks or analog watches - remember to set them back by 1 hour tonight before you go to bed ;)

Thanks, Lane, for the tag. The special day was when somebody in school became my closest friend (the friend which has passed away already, 30 yrs ago). During those school days in the '60s, we used to play Tiddlywinks during recess time. I used to think that Tiddlywinks was for kids only--but now I find that many adults play them too, as seen in this 5-minute video.

Hi, I don’t think I would want to relive any day from my past, unless it were to be an opportunity to undo a decision I later regretted.

I can say that when I think about it, my favorite day in the past would be experiencing the fern “forest” in Kaua’i with my partner. It was such a magical and peaceful place, and to be there with the love of my life is a memory that I always cherish. I do wish that I had been more relaxed on that trip overall. I did a couple things on that trip that I would come to wish I had done differently.

A good question! Probably that day long ago in the arcade when video games cost a quarter to play... and I finally beat the game I've played so long, with a small crowd gathered around me, even including girls 😃

Unfortunately, that was the pinnacle, it didn't lead to anything, and it was all downhill from there 😂 But I had no way of knowing that at the time and thought I was at the top of the world 😂

Hello SF family! I hope today finds you as well as can be.

Today is a "get to know you" question that I hope will help us focus on the good things in life.

What day in your life would you like to relive?

It could be a special event, or just a really good day!
The happiest days of my life have been the ones I spent with my sister in the UK. I would pick one of those :3

I'm with Lisa and Lumberjack on this one. It's not that I have no happy memories, but I don't necessarily want to go back and relive a particular day.

Similar to Lumberjack, there are some mistakes I wish to have not made, and I can certainly imagine having lived my life in a better way. On the other hand, there's really no telling where a different path in life might have led. I'm not sure I'd be prepared to give up the good things I've found in order to take that other route.
I've never wanted to be anywhere more than i want to be here, right now.
There's a song with the same theme. Except it's got this line about watching the world wake up from history, which I think is really dumb.

I often have memories of my cats (actually, my landlady's cat). They were so sweet, and would always come running and jump in my lap whenever I called out to them.

i don't think i would choose to relive any "good days". i would choose to relive bad days though, given a chance, because having learned healthier coping skills and understanding myself and my mental illness better, i would rather have the opportunity to relive my bad days and have another chance to make peace with myself and utilize all of the skills i have learned.
i don't feel the need to relive good days and memories because i have the opportunity to make more each day. Most of my past was not me living, but struggling to just survive. i was stuck living a lie for a long time because i never felt safe or comfortable enough to just be myself as being a transman. So, i would not want to live those days over. i would want to focus on moving forward, progressing emotionally and mentally. As much as i would want to relive any moment with my father it would only hurt that much more. i am learning to try and just live in the present of here and now.

Silly answer: When I saw Die Hard in the theater because I thought...Finally someone has made the perfect, the ultimate Christmas movie! :)

I am like many, plenty of fine days where I was content with how things went, but none in particular stand out in my memory.
