Thanks for the tag @Lane and thanks for opening up @Angie
I grew up celebrating Easter with my family. We'd always get together with my aunts, uncles, and cousins on my dad's side (plus my great-grandma and my grandpa, when they were alive) and have a big family meal. I don't really get along with my dad anymore, so I never get invited to any family events. I'm not sure if they do get together that often at this point now that all the kids are grown.
I never do much for Easter now that I'm on my own, and since I work every other weekend, sometimes it falls on a day I have to work. I've gotta work a night shift tonight and did last night too. My mom sent me an Easter card in the mail, and my one coworker said she would try to bring me a plate of the food she was cooking because I love soul food. But I'm not really doing anything specific to celebrate.

Nobody should have to go through that. I’m sorry that happened. You didn’t deserve it, and neither does anyone else. I don’t know if it helps to know there are many people in a similar situation, or if that just makes it worse. But anyway, I wish that no one would be violated by someone in power just for being vulnerable. It makes things so much worse for the victims.
Thank you, so true.

Hi @Angie , @cymbele and everyone else! It's been such a long time since I've posted here...

My family would often celebrate Easter in a similar way to Christmas - a Spring lunch/dinner with family. Sometimes we would skip, rest and/or travel (or study at uni...).. However, nowadays we don't really celebrate, in England. Only some family members send us giant chocolate Easter eggs!

We do try to spend the 4-day weekend doing something special though. This year, we went to the countryside in the Yorkshire Dales. We slept in a village hamlet, we rested, we read books, and we walked in nature. We also did a few road trips to nearby villages, moors, valleys and hiking spots. IT WAS PERFECT.

In a way it felt more "Eastery" with the millions of daffodils, lambs and bunnies we saw. :D We even rescued a baby bunny from the road on Easter day!

Thank you for opening @Angie and for the tag @Lane

So, do you celebrate and how do you if you do?
When my children were little ones, we would decorate eggs, hide plastic ones with treats in them, do baskets, add to the Resurrection Eggs with a new thing each kid gets to do as they got older. Things like finding the color, then naming the object. Onto what the object symbolizes, and then reading more every year. It kept it interesting and the kids loved to participate. For most of their lives, we were on the puppet team. So we Always had an Easter something going. Usually a pancake breakfast fundraiser in the morning... often times went about all over for the month to perform at various places.

Last year, we participated in an egg hunt with my grandbaby (then 2.5). Since then, there has been 2 more grandbabies added to the mix, the 2 oldest ones live out of state. And the 8 month old was too little to do anything with... plus it was the last big push to get them out of their apartment and moved.

i used to be the one to make a big family meal. Over the last 2 years i have not done anything special. i think i am burnt out.

Yes... i believe in God, Christ, and am a nondenominational Christian. There are bits and pieces of each that i believe... and there are bits n pieces of each that i find rather.... to put it nicely... wrong. i believe when rules n laws in the bible were made, they were most likely right for their time to keep people safe. Some of those just don't apply in the age. Probably should... but they don't. i also believe in evolution... Who's to say that God's day is equal to our 24 hours. It could have been a billion of our years to equal one of God's days.

Anyway... Maybe some day i will get back to egg hunts and big meals. Just not right now. i also hope to get back into puppeteering... and being a director of my own team... Maybe even going pro... *dreams*

For now... This is what we get... an i refuse to fight for and to do anything right now.

Thanks @Angie @Lane ! I celebrate, though I don't really do all that much unless someone invites to their Easter dinner 😂. In any case, it's when Lent ends, so the drinking and meat eating can resume.

I would be interested in seeing the picture of the person that got the cat in the costume. I bet he looks like he wrapped himself in rose bushes and rolled on the ground a few times. LOL
